Franco Harris passed away at the age of 72.
A great football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 70s.
I was never a Steelers fan, because they were a thorn in my Dallas Cowboys side. But a great player and a great human being.
Rest In Peace Franco Harris.
Reported by ESPN.

(5,346 posts)but I hated them because I was a rabid Raider fan.
If they had a challenge and play review system back then, the immaculate reception would have been reversed and never happened.
To this day, I've never gotten over it.
But history is history, and I honor all the great players from that golden decade of the 70's.

(3,245 posts)a few times over the years, great person.
He was to have his number retired Saturday and the Steelers were wearing their throwback jerseys in honor of the Immaculate Reception.
It really is a sad day in Pittsburgh.

(1,202 posts)As a lifelong Browns fan, no team or fan base despised the Steelers more than we did. But this comes as a shock and it's a sad day for sure.

(25,674 posts)It's the Steelers home station in Pittsburgh. When my aunt was alive, I would watch the games. when I came home on breaks from Penn State. Franco was our favorite.
RIP Franco.
