Russia ready to resume gas supplies to Europe via Yamal-Europe pipeline -Novak

(Reuters) -Moscow is ready to resume gas supplies to Europe through the Yamal-Europe Pipeline, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told state TASS news agency.

"The European market remains relevant, as the gas shortage persists, and we have every opportunity to resume supplies," TASS cited Novak as saying in remarks published by the agency on Sunday.

But I seem to remember Russia cut off all gas supplies to Europe some months ago. Putin thought he could destroy European support for Ukraine by cutting off natural gas. His strategy this far is a failure. Europe has done a good job finding alternate supplies. Russia probably regrets it's policies since Europe at least for now is getting by without Russian gas. It wouldn't surprise me if Germany starts buying again if the price is cheap.
At the moment gas in Europe seems to be at prewar prices.
According to Yale Prof Timothy Snyder most of modern European history is the story of Russia and Germany trying to divide up Ukraine.
