I had no idea that I could charter a bus to drop a bunch of people in the middle of nowhere.

I guess I could charter a trip to drop 50-60 women and children off in the middle of Death Valley with no return plans, or coordination of life-sustaining services, and the bus company would just take my check and wish me luck.

The Charter Companies that are providing these services to Abbot and Desantis know exactly what they are participating in.

I wonder how many professional sports teams and universities use these charter companies. I wonder why they would continue to contract with them?

Look, it's pretty simple.

Nothing will change. The racism, fascism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy...NONE OF IT...will change, unless and until we make racism, fascism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy unprofitable to the corporations, businesses and individuals that fund and enable it.

These Charter Companies shouldn't get a moments peace.

Their call centers, mailboxes and email accounts should be so flooded with irate Americans disgusted with this evil that they have to shut them down.

3. Some of the immigrants got off in Tennessee which made Abbott mad so he hired security

to keep them from getting off. Kidnapping? I saw photos of the buses but saw no company names.
If the migrants were prevented from exiting the buses, that is a crime I believe.
I also know a couple of guys who transported "illegals" to Phoenix or out of state, which could have got
them a jail sentence.

They are asylum seekers and have been processed by ICE, DHS and are free to travel.

However preventing people from leaving busses is very.likely illegal.

Someone in NYC said the migrants were prevented from leaving the buses, but Abbott's office said they could leave.

Of course you did: that's what charter bus companies do. They drive people who want to go from "A" to "B". Regardless of where "A" and "B" are. And for the nth time, the migrants on the bus wanted to go to "B". Whether they were misled as to what would happen at "B", they weren't forced on the bus, so there's nothing for the charter company to be criticized for.

Home Depot, Delta, Fed-Ex and other stopped giving to Retrumplicans for about 5 minutes, oh, and they issued a strongly worded press release.

Did they stick to their guns until the legislature pulled the bill? No!

Did they continue to fight? No!

Did they move out of Georgia when Gov. Kemp signed this racist bill into law? No!

After about 5 minutes of these corporations declaring their opposition to racism, fascism and misogyny, and their support for Democracy, they started again funding folks like Marge Green, Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert and their ilk.

Their "support" for Democracy and opposition to racism lasted about 5 minutes

As a business, you can make a choice as to whether, or not you accept contracts and employment.

If you accept payment to drop a bunch of desperate women and children on the side of the road in 10 degree weather, you are complicit and should be held accountable.

This was a downtown to downtown bus ride.

Just like about a hundred scheduled bus trips from NYC to Washington the same day.

I'm not endorsing what Abbott did; I'm observing that there's no violation of either the law or DOT/ICC regulations that anyone can point to. If you want to launch a "boycott charter buses" movement, good luck, but I think you're going to be hard-pressed to show effectiveness.
