Whether it's true or not. I do know that SWA has generally been better run than this. I love flying with SWA because there's no hassle, no extra/hidden fees, etc,. I don't have to go to a special "hub/spoke" airport to fly with them; it's point-to-point, and they're generally cheaper with better in-flight service than anyone else I've ever flown with.

I'm not defending them on this. I'm truly baffled on this fuckup. Overbooking is routine, but knowing you've got staffing shortages and not rebooking your passengers on other flights/airlines to compensate is...stupid.

yes, 10 years ago they were ahead of the curve. I always credited it with SW business acumen. Yeah, I know but i have psychologically accepted the myth that rw's are good at business. Maybe it isn't true at all considering what we've seen recently.
