One characteristic of her project has been to undermine US institutions. As much as he deserves to be destroyed, metaphorically of course, destroying a US Representative(-elect) is congruent with that project.

Exposing his mendacity to the one audience that otherwise might not hear about it helps to erode even their trust in particular US political institutions -- whether or not that erosion is deserved or not doesn't impact whether or not it is a change in her behavior.
