(61,736 posts)My sons were telling me about him and then this happened. He sounds like a very evil person. Even the jaded young people are horrified by his behavior, which involves sex trafficking.

Sorry, felt a need to inform about recycling.
Greta is AMAZING! She probably saved lives with her tweet that lead to his taunting her and giving up information that lead to his arrest.

(12,455 posts)It was for a store-bought pizza that you cook at home. The box was made to look like a delivery box but the pizza had been wrapped in plastic and the box was clean. Just as I had feared, one of the people at the dump scolded me and I had to explain. I actually was pleased they were so thorough. The pizza was terrible, BTW.

(65,318 posts)I know the thread is about Greta, but our rules are no items that had direct contact with foods.
The plastic tray meats come on, for instance, are a big no-no.
However, if we wash them out it's OK. But, no way to do that with cardboard.

(6,940 posts)I was hoping there was a way. Well, not really, because i'm allergic to wheat so can't order in.I can get frozen caulifloer crust gluten free ones, and they are sealed in plastic, so I can (and do) recycle those boxes, but the plastic wrap can't be.

(6,017 posts)"It's advice from the dawn of curbside recycling: Don't put your pizza box in the blue bin because the greasy cardboard and cheese scraps make it unrecyclable. For years, conscientious recyclers followed this advice, and tens of billions of pizza boxes were sent to landfills and incinerators. The intentions were good, but it turns out that the advice wasn't. New research reveals that, so long as you remove all the pizza, the cardboard container that held your Veggie Supreme can be readily recycled into something new."

"A recent study confirmed pizza boxes are recyclable. Grease and cheese are not an issue for the recycling process. Simply remove leftover pizza and place the box in the recycling bin. We encourage communities to update their residential recycling programs guidelines to explicitly accept pizza boxes that are free of food."

"The verdict? Pizza grease is not an issue. Pizza boxes can be recycled. Pizza can not. Empty your box and recycle.
In 2020, pizza box manufacturers and mills came together to test how much grease is okay in pizza boxes so they can still be recycled. We took it a step further and created messaging materials to help local programs inform residents."

(5,463 posts)because some younger males see him as everything they would like to be but are too afraid of the possible consequences.
Seen as a social media 'lifestyle influencer' in some quarters.
The pizza boxes may have been a deliberate hint to the local police that he was back in the country.
A taunt, like 'I am here, what are you going to do about it? Ha, can't catch me!'
And the verbal exchange with Greta similarly, may have been a bit of a publicity stunt.
Not the first time a gangster figure has taunted local authorities and come off second best.
