Prosecutors said the Tate brothers had been under criminal investigation since April.

"The four suspects ... appear to have created an organised crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialised websites for a cost," the prosecutors said in a statement late on Thursday.

"They would have gained important sums of money."

Prosecutors said they had found six women who had been sexually exploited by the suspects.

sex trafficking and/or rape and it would seem that they would keep him or at least give him a big bail.

Did he commit these crimes in another country?

I have no idea how Romanian law works, but these are violent crimes he's accused of.

In the US bail can be denied under such circumstances. Maybe in Romania it doesn't matter so much if you are rich or famous or well-connected like it would here. Or, more cynically, connections might help but they have to be Romanian connections.

Prosecutors said that the local authorities had carried out searches of homes they believed were connected to human trafficking and rape. The authorities said they were investigating whether the suspects created a criminal group in 2021 to engage in human trafficking in Romania, the United States and Britain.

Six victims, who were allegedly coerced into performing sexual acts, were housed in buildings outside Bucharest, prosecutors said. On two separate occasions in March, one of the suspects used violence and psychological pressure to rape a victim, prosecutors said.
