A TikToker is exposing what she called the most unhinged thing that a grandmother gave her grandchild for Christmas.
The video, which has over 1.3 million views and 185,000 likes, shows the TikToker (@SnoozeAlarmMom) addressing the camera to show a book one of her children received from a grandmother. It's not clear if it's from the child's maternal or paternal grandmother.
The gift is a children's book called The Plot Against the King by Kash Patel, which is an adaptation of Dinesh DSouzas debunked conspiracy theory film 2000 Mules about alleged voter fraud in the 2020 election.
In the book, former President Donald Trump is the "king."

No wonder Trump got along so well with Kim Jong Un. This looks like North Korean propaganda.

(19,204 posts)how did they surgically separate Patel's and D'Souza's lips from Trump's fat, wrinkly old ass without permanently scarring either's face?
Modern medical science is truly a wonder.

(6,017 posts)It's just so damn predictable, and the sort of reality disconnect that cults use. The "Believer" is forced to choose between reality and the cult's stated position, which is often a mirror image of reality. Once those threads are broken, it just gets easier and easier to control them thanks to cognitive dissonance (where they have to either admit they are wrong or just double down on how they interpret reality).

(21,240 posts)My late brother in law had the art of the deal book and another one written by TFG. My sister let me take them where I tore them up and put them in the recycle bin. But one of the books had a foreword written by TFG that actually praised President Obamas upcoming presidency. I kept that page and laminated it. But I wish I had saved the name of the book to harass the cult members I know showing how TFG actually spoke positively about President Obama

(111,417 posts)and put in a substitute book, although kids under 12 are not going to get the politics, it's just a story and pictures to them.
Don't believe me? Reread "Huckleberry Finn" as an adult and get back to me.
My mother had to do that with one of my bonkers grand aunts after I got a real surprise the Xmas I was five, some very lovely pink silk underpants, size 40. I held them up for inspection and my dad and I thought it was hilarious. My mother was horrified.
So this mum might have words with her mother about inappropriate gifts for children but it's not likely to do any good. Crazy is as crazy does and it will give the kid a great catalog of crazy grandma stories to tell in the future.

Nature will take care of it eventually anyway.

(16,609 posts)Did anyone else look at the Amazon listing? I did, and guess who the author is?
Kash Patel (of 2000 Mules infamy)!
And not only that, but he wrote 2 books like this (the toktoker is holding the second one), put himself in the stories, AND made himself the star of the whole thing!
Here's the link to the Amazon listing for the first one (in case you skipped over it in the OP): https://www.amazon.com/Plot-Against-King-Kash-Patel/dp/1955550123
And here's the first page of the story that I screen capped from the Anazon "Look Inside" preview of the first book:
The sequel, which the Tiktoker is holding, is called The Plot Against the King 2000 Mules: https://www.amazon.com/Plot-Against-King-2000-Mules/dp/1955550190
I don't know much about Kash Patel, aside from his Trump-relatedshenanigans, but these books make him look like as big of a narcissist as, well, Trump!

(4,314 posts)"Ha! Ha! Look, kids, this book shows just how crazy Trump and his followers are! Everybody knows the United States is a democratic republic! We don't want a king. Our country was set up by people who had read the whole Bible, so they knew how bad it is to have kings ruling! (NOTE: If you read the Book of Judges and the 1st Book of Samuel, you will find that Israel at first had a legislature of elected representatives, and that God spoke to Samuel when the local MAGA types demanded a king, telling Samuel to warn them that a king would only become a tyrant.) We have a President, and we call him that because he is not supposed to rule, but to Preside." My high school had us read Hitler's Mein Kampf, and nobody turned into a Nazi, because they knew how to present the material.
