Unless the governor writes out a whole bunch of pardons or commutes a bunch of sentences they stay in prison. Just because the law changed doesn't mean it wasn't illegal back then.

After The Fact laws usually address charging people on something that when they did it, wasnt illegal but now is and not the other way around.

I'm sure that both sides will go back and forth, but people in prison under circumstances which were made legal last night should be released and should have their records expunged.
