Why can't that ignorant panel on Jon King simply say that MTG's comments are fucking

unconstitutional. She is calling for the split up of the United States.
This is not badly put together thoughts.
What the fuck is wrong with these hacks?

First amendment and all that.

As the Supreme Court ruled in the Yates case: As
"We are thus faced with the question whether the Smith Act prohibits advocacy and teaching of forcible overthrow as an abstract principle, divorced from any effort to instigate action to that end, so long as such advocacy or teaching is engaged in with evil intent. We hold that it does not. ... In failing to distinguish between advocacy of forcible overthrow as an abstract doctrine and advocacy of action to that end, the District Court appears to have been led astray by the holding in Dennis that advocacy of violent action to be taken at some future time was enough."

3. Of course, if the "divorce" was allowed to happen, it's the red states that would be screwed

They count on funding from blue states to keep them going. The blue states would thrive.

5. Her comments aren't unconstitutional - dumb people are free to say stupid shit -

but her idea would be if it were implemented. Secession won't happen, but what some red states are looking at is sort of secession-adjacent; they are trying to ignore federal laws and regulations as afar as they can get away with it. Empty Greene also should remember that her own state isn't all that red - it has two Dem Senators.

I don't know what "divorce" means in this context anyway.

Maybe she doesn't mean secession, but a no-contact order, custody of the MAGA idiots and a support check every month.

Who the fuck knows what she meant?

7. If I, like MTG, lacked the brains to understand all the problems trying to split the country...

...would cause, I'd be all for divorcing from the right-wing nutjobs too.

I am, however, quite well aware of how it's not only impractical to split up (for just one of many problems, we really have much more of an urban/rural political divide than a red state/blue state divide), but, even if possible, I know it would be incredibly dangerous.

Can you imagine living next to a country, run by the likes of Trump, DeSantis, and MTG, that had a nuclear arsenal?
