Trump Goes On Manic Posting Bender After Indictment -- Including 3 AM Hunter Biden Shoutout

Former President Donald Trump went on a manic posting bender following his indictment that extended into the wee hours of the morning with an all-caps reference to Hunter Biden. The media went into overdrive when News broke on Thursday afternoon that Trump has been indicted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s grand jury investigating the circumstances around hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. But so did Trump, who reacted in short order with a lengthy statement lashing out in familiar language about persecution and attacking Bragg, as well as President Joe Biden.

“The Democrats have lied, cheated and stolen in their obsession with trying to ‘Get Trump,’ but now they’ve done the unthinkable,” Trump wrote, and concluded his 319-word screed by promising “our Movement, and our Party – united and strong -will first defeat Alvin Bragg, and then we will defeat Joe Biden, and we are going to throw every last one of these Crooked Democrats out of office so we can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump then spent all night and all Friday morning putting out a blizzard of posts on his Truth Social account that even included a post at 2:46 AM that included a 2-word reference to the president’s son: “WHERE’S HUNTER?”

Most of Trump’s activity consisted of re-posting messages from prominent supporters and video clips from his favorite cable news networks, an onslaught that continues minute by minute Friday morning. According to CNN Law Enforcement analyst John Miller Trump has been criminally indicted on a whopping 34 counts, and CNN also reports that “the Secret Service is preparing to bring the former president to his court appearance on Tuesday in Manhattan,” where he will be booked, fingerprinted, photographed, and arraigned. “For the Secret Service, they believe this is going to be a quick thing. This is going to be probably ten, 15 minutes before this judge in Manhattan. And they can get him in and then they can get him out securely,” CNN’s Evan Perez reported.

When will the Republican Party abandon this sinking ship?

As much as I loathe Donald Trump and want to see him fail miserably, part of me wants him to win the Republican nomination so I can watch him drag that entire corrupted dissemblage down with him.

I don't think he has a chance in Hell of winning the general election, and thise motivated to vote against him will bolster our downticket races as well.

Please don't use the term "stroke out" in that fashion.

Some of us older DUers are at serious risk of suffering an actual stroke. Personally I'm in fairly good health at 65, but my next door neighor whom I've known for 32 years died of a massive stroke two weeks ago.

Back to politics, the highest priorities are to win the 2024 elections (Presidency, Senate, House, as many state governments as possible) and to save our democracy and rule of law which are under severe threat by a Republican Party and its bloated leader who are moving towards full-on fascism.

Part of me wants Trump to win his party's nomination because I think that would help Democrats win the 2024 elections.

The other part of me wants Donald Trump held accountable for his crimes in full accordance with the highest standards of our justice system.

It just may be possible, depending on timing and how things work out, for both parts of what I want to come true.

..than two in the tree. I don't have a clue what pieces will be on the board come Nov 2024. But if Trump isn't in jail, he could well be the rethug in the White House come Jan 2025.

What I can see at this point is the reasonable likelihood of him receiving 3 more indictments, one being the GA case which, as I understand, will be pardon-proof.

I well understand the political strategy that might be a better choice so as to keep Democrats in control. But I also think it's the state rethug kooks who are a clear and present danger and the presidential race won't help out there.

Trump needs to be convicted of something for more reasons than being held accountable for breaking the law. Everyone who helped him try to overturn the election and obstruct the certification needs to see that it is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. And maybe, just maybe, some of them will also be indicted and maybe convicted. And as has been said, the failed Jan 6, 2021 coup was practice.

But to answer your question, I am indeed focused solely on Trump. I want him out of the game, off the field and barred from ever returning.
