To voice support for Trump in his hour of need is one thing. To criticize the legal arguments underlying the case is within the bounds of political debate.
But to vow, as DeSantis did, to refuse to follow the Constitution in working with New York authorities to extradite Trump from Florida is a threat to the rule of law we havent yet seen in this Trump-driven national crisis. As with Trump, DeSantis in making that pledge shows a boundless willingness to undermine Americas democratic institutions for personal political gain.

DeSantis most likely will never have the opportunity to make good on his no-extradition stance, not that he could really prevent it anyway.
But that doesnt make his odious statement issued to pander to the antler-wearing, flag-wielding insurrectionist vote any less reprehensible. He called the indictment which he presumably hasnt read because it is under seal un-American and accused Bragg of weaponizing the law to advance a political agenda.

(17,179 posts)That's exactly what DeSantis does. What else could you call it. He's been using the weapon on GLBTs and all progressives and liberals. It's obscene what he does, and he wants to accuse someone else of doing the same thing.

Being a toady is such a non-rewarding job. You never get any acknowledgement for the intensity of the ass kissing you engage in.
How can he possibly make any kind of legitimate run for the Republican nomination when all he can do is elevate Trump?
Maybe he thinks Trump will be jailed and not be able to continue his campaign. He doesn't realize that Trump can command his base from anywhere, and they are strong enough to carry him through any closed primary.
Governor white boots is so pathetic.
