... will he have to submit his tax/financial records to get Senate approval?

(7,549 posts)if this happens, but I don't think it will.
He should have to show his taxes if it does though.

(18,402 posts)Obama may invite him over for a beer to "discuss" things, for the optics. But let's not waste time and energy discussing this non-starter.

(7,256 posts)has this question never been asked of any other President? Of course, no other President or potential President ever been asked for his/her birth certificate, college transcripts, or passport records (maybe Bill Clinton) either.

(3,427 posts)He didn't spend the last 10 years running for president to end up in some Cabinet post. He wanted the top job, and I don't think he'd be interested in anything less.

At lunch I'd order Lutefisk, one of the most disgusting foods on the planet. (And I am 1/2 Norwegian!!) of course, I would change my mind and ask for tuna salad, instead.
Sounds like it has the makings of a good screw Mitt game.

(12,272 posts)I am pretty sure I saw that Mitt's taxes were disclosed and it was discovered that he indeed didn't pay any, as Harry Reid had stated. Mitt used a kind of charity loophole through the LDS church, that allowed him to legally pay no money to the US government.
I seriously hope that tax loopholes like the one above and Mitt's son of BOSS are shut tight and we do need someone full-time to keep an eye out for new ones, because you know there will be some. However, I just don't think Mitt is the man for the job.
