make sure you sign up for these even if you don't think they are needed... more demand means more money for these programs in the future. also these have been tailored for the current variants.

aren't thinking of the newly formulated vaccine/booster?

AFAIK, the point-of-care antigen tests have remained the same.

My wife read me an article on this last night saying the new home tests the government is passing out are better at detecting the current variants.

Lucky me.

I have practiced social distancing and mask wearing since the thing began,
and never felt bad enough to think I needed a covid test all that time....

and was never feeling 'sick'
except for reasons that might be called
"self-inflicted"....but those were also very rare

Thanks for your post. Maybe my stocked tests are expired by now...
probably I should get some new ones, just in case...

I first read this info in a tweet by Dr. Eric Feigl-Ding on the app-formerly-known-as-Twitter. But since that is a toXic dumpster fire lately, here is a link to an article on CNet:

https://www.cnet.com/health/your-expired-covid-test-kits-are-probably-still-good-how-to-find-out/

The extension of the expiration date does not apply to all brands of COVID tests, but the FDA has a list of the tests and whether or not that brand's expiration date has been extended:

https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/coronavirus-covid-19-and-medical-devices/home-otc-covid-19-diagnostic-tests#list

All that aside, we're still ordering the new tests when they become available!
