BREAKING: DC Circuit Court of Appeals UPHOLDS MOST of Judge Chutkans limited gag order against Trump. The only difference I can see is that Trump is allowed to speak about Jack Smith. He cant attack his family, foreseeable witnesses, counsel and their family or court staff.

(5,648 posts)Honestly, I wish he'd keep his big flappin' face anus shut but it seems as if the more he talks, the deeper the hole he digs for himself so it's hard not to be at least a little torn.

(13,538 posts)I'm hoping beyond hope that I have to eat crow on that prediction.
But with him getting secret service protection, I just dont see him going to an actual jail. And there's no procedure that I know of to take it away from him.
Justice matters.

It would save money for the taxpayers too.

(13,538 posts)The govt just isnt going to put SS agents inside a prison.
Maybe wall off part of Mar A Lardo & keep him there; then agents could be in reasonable conditions. But I doubt they'll even go THAT far.
Maybe his 100,000th cheeseburger will get him on the 9th hole of Doral.

(36,820 posts)That's practically the speed of light for appeals.
Typically, each side wins gave two weeks to brief the matter, then the will be a hearing, then the court will take a month or so to rule.

(40,426 posts)on an election timetable.
IMHO, the relativity of their this court's usual process timetable still denies due process to the larger public -- the lawyers can respond sooner than two weeks, and the court can write its decision in less than one month.
This snails pace works to the advantage of the defendant over the People of the United States -- Whose collective interest in a speedy trial process outweighs his interest to delay that process -- one man -- with the goal of wiping it all from history with a possible electoral win.
They know it. We know it. This appeals court process should be on a clock, and Congress should pass a law to shorten this so-called due process to protect the public's justice interest.

(14,044 posts)and been elected president. Trump relishes running his mouth and inciting others to violence. The only thing that'll stop him is being thrown in jail by the judge.
