"SNIP.........
As someone who worked in Republican campaigns for almost 30 years, I say without hesitation that the Democratic Party is the only pro-democracy party in America. But guys, why do so many of you have this need to act like ungrateful children of wealthy parentsimpossible to please and always demanding more? Name a president who accomplished as much in his first term.
The stock market is hitting record highs. Unemployment is at a record low, with 14 million new jobs. Talk to small-business owners, and the biggest problem they are facing is finding workers. A child born in the first Republican infrastructure week would have been entering grade school by the time President Biden passed the largest public spending initiative in American history. As a Republican media consultant, I made hundreds of ads about the high cost of prescription drugs. But it took President Biden to give Medicare the power to directly negotiate with Big Pharma to lower prices and cap the cost of insulin for Medicare beneficiaries at $35. For all the bitching about gas prices, the United States is now producing more oil than any country in history. Yes, more than Russia or Saudi Arabia, and thats one of the reasons gas prices are now lower in inflation-adjusted prices than in 1974. Yeah, I know, fossil fuels suck, and the world should run on solar power. But the Biden administration also launched a $7 billion solar power investment project.
What is most amazing is that Biden got this done in a world in which the majority of Republicans believe he is not a legal president. Ponder that for a minute. You are a White House staffer working to help pass Biden initiatives, and you are dealing with members of Congress and senators who dont just disagree with your bossthey think hes an illegitimate president.
Wake up and show some gratitude. You wanted student loan forgiveness. You got it, for three million borrowers. You wanted a president who would finally pass gun safety legislation. You got the most comprehensive bill in nearly 30 years, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which passed with the support of 15 Republican senators and 14 Republican House members, opening the door to some hope that laws on gun violence might finally start to reflect the wishes of the majority of the country. Maybe youre a Democrat who actually cares about the federal deficit, unlike the Republicans who fake concern. Since Biden took office, the deficit has decreased by $1.7 trillion.

Biden is masterful as President. The things he has negotiated insid and outside the USA are amazing. That's why Hamas attacked Israel - Joe Biden was getting close to a deal with the Saudis and Israel (which could still happen if there is a two state solution).

(3,017 posts)* by voting against good bills, and reasonable compromises, because they don't go far enough, or because finding common ground for the sake of incremental progress is something to be avoided. Lord & heaven-be-praised that we're onto their games and fundraising gimmicks.
We're in good hands with Joe Biden & Kamala Harris!

(17,011 posts)We've got our plate full with helping people understand how things work in the first place and how intense and well-funded the right-wing efforts are to not only resist solutions and progress but actual maintenance of any progress we've made. Many years ago The Nation warned that the right wing intended to nullify the 20th century, and we're seeing ample evidence of that with the right's efforts to roll back child labor laws, voting rights, and more.

(2,372 posts)17 &22 and say Biden is a do nothing corporate shill.
I've said the same things but all over social media, especially tik tok, they hear Biden is a doddering old man who accomplished nothing except for his corporate overlords.

(6,560 posts)Exactly that! Have followed Joe Biden and his political career almost from the beginning. I have been disappointed he was not accepted as a presidental candidate on several ocassions. However, I am extremely grateful, thanks to the overlooking in earlier campaigns, he was available for candicy in 2020!!! He is the perfect person to meet the challenges of today!!!!!

(3,989 posts)But Democrats are having the same problem as usual, controlling the narrative. Time to get aggressive.
Four more years with a Democratic controlled Congress.

(6,881 posts)It seems Biden's age is the main "sticking point" with many of these people that still have reservations.
What? Still have trauma because someone over the age of 65 said or did something you didn't like, so now you think all people over that age will do the same thing?
Umm... yeah, sure, ok. Have fun with your transference issues. I'm sure they won't wind up kicking you in the ass one day.
"He's in his 80s! He's too old!"
"I wish he was 30 years younger!" Yeah, we all do, but that isn't going to happen no matter how much magic fairy dust you sprinkle on that cake and candles.
I'd rather have an 80 year-old "doddering" President that gets shit done, than a 50 year-old do nothing (But hey! He's younger!), or a 77-year-old oompa-loompa facing 90+ charges.
2024... But... But... His Age!
2016... But... But... Her Emails!
Along with age comes experience, wisdom, confidence, and a skills set we have rarely seen! The other major party has a selfish, egocentric, 77 year old man-baby, dictator wannabe! Anyone with half a brain knows which one is the better choice!

Btw. Check out the Biden Administrations Food as Medicine program. Game changer.

(16,195 posts)Do I agree with 100% of what he does or says? Nope.
There has never been a politician I've agreed with 100%. It is because I am human and they are human, so we're bound to be on different pages on something. That's normal, expected.
He's doing a great job.
Now congress....there are some problems there, but generally not caused by Democrats (I'd say never, but someone would come and say "well what about...."

(4,174 posts)To my relief, however, he's proved me wrong. I've been impressed with what he's done during his presidential term and I will happily vote for him again (as I did last time).
I honestly don't understand why he isn't more popular. What exactly would it take for people (including Democrats) to actually approve of a president? My own theory is that too many generations without Civics classes has eroded the population's understanding of what role the president has in our government. They believe a president should have greater powers and just make things happen, when it's actually Congress that has that responsibility.

(6,315 posts)He has managed to do a masterful job of working with a hostile congress in the midst of one of the most contentious times in our nation's history.
He has demonstrated a level of leadership that is far above anything I have seen from any Republican President in my lifetime.
And the United States is a difficult nation to lead. We have large numbers of people from each of the racial, religious, ethnic, socioeconomic, and political groups.
Each group pulls in a different direction, and wants the President to do their stuff first and foremost.
And he still gets a lot done.
He's an amazing guy.

(542 posts)Anyone who understands anything about politics and how our system of government works knows that Biden has been a great President. He has performed well both in Foreign Relations as well as Domestically. He has promoted and signed some of the best investments in American history and that is a big part of why the economy has recovered so well and is in record breaking territory. Biden is a skilled politician and his first term has been extraordinary. Anyone who does not understand that is simply ignorant. Unfortunately, we have a lot of ignorant people in this country.
