Hicks... at that moment she started to cry. She just basically gave the prosecution what they needed.

Agnifilo: Hicks said after Trump was President, they had a conversation about the payment to Stormy Daniels and what he said was it’s a good thing the story didn’t come out before the election… at that moment she started to cry. She just basically gave the prosecution what they needed.

Hmmmmm...

Pretty girl crumbles when she's put under pressure.

I'm sorry - I can't take her seriously. I bet she loved the attention and flattery and compliments she got from the donald, day in and day out. We all know he likes surrounding himself with pretty things. I think that's how she climbed as high as she did on the way to, and into, his White House organization. She may have seen a "daddy thing" in him, and she may have seen how easy he was to exploit if you're a pretty young thing (the kind he fantasizes taking to bed). I doubt someone born with as many blessings-on-the-book-cover wouldn't know how to play a hand like that.

Sorry to be so cynical. I have no inside info here. But I'm old enough to have seen enough.

News people were musing and questioning why she would cry, and I would just posit that she had to admit to being complicit in his mendacity. She actually reminds me of women who remain in an abusive relationship because they view it as a transactional decision (i.e., there/was a quid pro quo relationship).

somehow I doubt she shed tears when Trump imposed the Muslim ban, diverted money from government agencies to build his "wall", separated families at the border, placed babies in cages, said torch carrying Nazis chanting "Jews will not replace us " were "very nice people", referred to third world countries as "shit hole countries", spewed racial and ethnic filth, posited shooting BLM peaceful protestors, ignored a global pandemic, "disappeared" 300,000 covid deaths, attempted to withhold military aid for Ukraine in exchange for dirt on Joe Biden, romanced dictators/autocrats, shared classified information with Russian dignitaries in the Oval Office, called fallen soldiers losers and suckers, insulted our allies, dissed NATO, imposed tariffs on China nearly cratering the steel industry here at home...and the list goes on...

she teared up because she knew if she lied under oath to protect Trump, she would suffer the same fate as Allen Weisselberg...and Hicks knew once she told the truth and betrayed Trump, she would cease to exist in Trump World...boo-fucking-hoo

Seriously, I know those people were chosen for their "loyalty" (i.e., willingness to put up with any awful thing Trump did), but quite a few seem to have had their limits when put to the test. I think that's why so many people quit on him when they realized what they had signed up for.

None of us can judge how convincing Hicks' crying on the stand was, because we didn't witness it ourselves. But people can and do have what's called a change of heart. It's a real thing.

Watching Chris Hayes tonight, it was pointed out that she still has positive feelings toward Trump (grateful to him for giving her opportunities, etc.) and cried because she felt emotional about having to testify against him. So I'm thinking "change of hearts" probably doesn't apply here, in the way I was suggesting.

TSF is really good at messing up the lives of people who get involved with him. And he does not care one teeny, tiny little bit. Just one of the many reasons why the word "sick" applies to hum.

There is an overriding factor here, and that is her looks.

As we watched the coverage, reading the comments on the screen from inside the courtroom, there was a slideshow going on that eclipsed that of all the other witnesses. That was HH laughing with trump, walking down the airplane stairs with trump, cavorting down the sidewalk outside the WH with trump, et al, ad nauseum.

She had enough loyalty to get by but it was her looks that were the factor in her employment at the WH.

Now where did those photos come from? Sure, a few came from the media’s files, but a collection of that magnitude was requisitioned and put online by someone. That tells a lot right there.

Meaning Hicks like most Republicans only care about things when it hurts them personally. We know from her statements it wasnt the facts coming out (him getting caught) but when she realized his January 6th actions cost her personally. In some ways that's vastly more deplorable.

I think the horrors of everything she had participated in covering up bubbled to the surface. The emotions were likely regret, shame and PTSD/ trauma. I think she understands that she was a part of a disgusting, criminal campaign and administration, and last Friday she was forced to relive it and admit to it out loud, in front of the world.

I checked out Hope Hick's Wikipedia page, and it looks like she tried to leave trump numerous times but he kept demanding her return, and I guess she was too weak or felt pressured into going back.
