I wish people here would quit with the "diaper Don" comments.

There are people here, including myself, who have to wear depends.

I had prostate surgery, (cancer,) and would love to not have to wear them.

As is, I only have to wear one a day.

Slam Donald Trump for his corruption. But QUIT with the diaper bullshit!

Whether he has drug induced incontinence or not, the stories have come from at least half a dozen crew of the apprentice that he abused Adderall and had incontinence issues.

Both are likely for his nda requirements of all employees, even those who did not handle anything sensitive to his business interests and profits.

If we had a normal election with a normal republican candidate -- well, what used to be normal anyway -- that was all about issues and policies, then sure. Not a fan of ad hominem attacks. My father had prostate cancer and I'm at high risk for it, escaped it so far but I may be joining you at some point....

But in this case, I think it's warranted not because he wears depends, but because he's made a career out of fabricating an image of himself as some kind of demi-god, he's made a career out of ad hominem attacks on others, and he's specifically attacked Biden as being old and falling apart.

Moreover, we desperately need people to laugh at him and there's an entire category of humor that this fits squarely in.

So please don't take the jokes against Donnie as jokes against anyone who wears depends. You and the rest of that group don't go around insulting and mocking others for being old, but Donnie does.

Besides... he's always so full of sh*t....

Many people feel inspired to comment on Trump's undergarments because Trump portrays himself as younger, more vital, more energetic than that old man Sleepy Joe. The diapers are an indication he is showing more signs of aging than Biden. And Trump feels free to create derogatory nicknames for Biden, so the Diaper Don thing seems right. Plus it's a takeoff on Dapper Dan. Personally, I advocate dropping all nicknames for him because they associate him with perfectly wonderful people who have incontinence, weight problems, bad hair, etc. Just call him Trump. That's insulting enough.

There are nicknames that don't call anything like that to mind. Example: TSF (the sick f***). I'm fine with those.

I also don't have a problem with making fun of his hair or makeup, because those are deliberate choices he has made due to his overweening vanity. The hair, for example, is a direct result of his denial of his perfectly normal male pattern baldness. Rather than admitting he's losing his hair (like millions of other men his age and younger), he grows the hair he has left super long and swirls it into that ludicrous haystack. It nakes him look stupid, and when people make fun of it, we're actually making fun of his vanity and his denial.

Personally, I'm not into making fun of his weight or his alleged incontinence, but I understand why people do it. We're all SO sick of everything about him, and all the mockery provides needed stress relief.

As others have said, he portrays himself as being an almost faultless human being, in perfect shape. And yet, he's obviously not, and he would, and has, enthusiastically mock anyone who has the problems that many of us of a certain age suffer from.

Everyday I think of the words of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin:

could be the one thing that costs him the election. And everyone here would exploit it.

The rules have changed so much, a lot of people here (myself included) would not have condoned it 8 years ago. But we must exploit every weakness of his and spread it far and wide. "Diaper Don" is a not so subtle answer to the question of President Biden's age. There are lukewarm MAGAts out there who won't hear any valid arguments, but would walk away with "Diaper Don" forever stuck in their head. It could help lose votes for the 'chosen one'.

I don't make fun of him in that way, and both my parents also wore them regularly.

It's one thing to wear them due to a health or medical issue and it's normal. I'm sure you have it under control as an independent adult.

In Trump's case, it's alleged his incontinence is egregious due to his poor diet, and that it was somewhat self-inflicted due to his past drug abuse. There are stories from production crew that they would have to temporarily shut down tapings of The Apprentice because he would soil himself, and there were designated people whose job it was to clean him up and change him like a baby while he stood there. And because he's used to this treatment, he will soil himself and sit there in it since he doesn't want anything to appear amiss, and people near him have to suffer because of that until he can get one of his handlers to do it for him.

I don't think it's a slam on him needing to wear incontinence garments, it's a slam that he's a rich spoiled old man who requires people change him like a baby and that it has to be a secret covert thing because he would never be honest about his own health issues and is constantly trying to project this "healthy man in his prime" image that is patently not true.

when people use the term.

Nor is it the makeup or the shoe lifts nor the Adderal (likely the cause of the incontinence) nor any other artificial thing he uses to pretend he is an "Aryan God" in perfect health and erfect shape. What's being mocked is the pretense.

Last fall I had to wear them for about 6 weeks starting with a hospital stay after a fall nd continuing through rehab and after returning home until I finally stabilized. I still keep ahealthy supply of them on had, because what happened once could happen again. I'm not offended because I wasn't pretending I was perfect - I was seeking and receiving treatment, rehab, and assistance from friends. I know no one is talking about me.

Of course that doesn't mean we don't need to listrn to those who are bothered by it. I'm confident no one here has any intention of hurting anyone else, least of all someone with a genuine medical issue.

Sat May 4, 2024, 05:46 PM

confronted with the information that he smells bad or wears a diaper change their position on him.

What I have see Trump supporters do is either:
1. deny it and use it as more evidence that democrats are desperate liars who will use anything to take him down; or
2. say that it shows how mean and nasty democrats are and how they can't be trusted with power because their approach is so juvenile.

I understand the theory that ridicule should be an effective tool against tyrants but I don't see any evidence of that in the case of Trump. People either double down or get defensive about it. It's not constructive and doesn't move the needle.

Permanent side effects that we don't discuss in polite company? Oh, yeah. Friendly advice: Never get between me and a bathroom.
But the Gangrenous Boil on the Ass of Humanity wears didees because he's been addicted to Adderall, and probably Peruvian marching powder, for years. So, yeah, I think he deserves to be mocked, but what's far worse are the belligerent idiots that still support him. They are too weak to admit that they've been played like a cheap fiddle, so wearing adult diapers in solidarity with the manure pile who validates their bigotry and staggering stupidity seems like a reasonable trade-off to their scrambled brains.
I'll make fun of his alternative to Fruit of the Looms every chance I get, because there's nothing he hates more than being ridiculed, and the schadenfreude is so gratifying.

And got the same rationalization you are getting - the same also offered when being gay or trans is used as an insult. Calling on the homophobic, trans-hostile, ableist traits of the target of the insults simply confirms that those using such insults see those of us who are LGBTQ+, or wear diapers as the butts of jokes.

FWIW, I wore diapers for most of a year when I had fibroids that threatened to cause me to hemorrhage to death (I could never count on more than 5 minutes between trips to the bathroom before I started wearing them), my grandmother wore them for years before c. Diff (a major cause of diarrhea) took her life at 101. Both my spouse and my mother have urinary incontinence and wear incontinence pads.

Plenty of ways to insult Trump without being ableist about it.

It has to do with respect for others who you are also insulting as a byproduct of a lack of the ability to imagine any way to insult Trump that is not homophobic, trans-hostile, ableist. Etc. Using a category of people as an insult is just as (or more) hurtful when used by people who theoretically support us, regardless of the ostensible target.

Nor does it have anything to do with being uptight. It has to do with common decency, and not using bigotry in any form as an insult.

It is impossible to use a group of people as an insult without harming those people. It doesn't matter whether you are trying to insult Trump, or Biden, or the next door neighbor. Being used as a battering ram inherently hits the battering ram as hard as the person you are using it against. That's just simple physics.

That's why EarlG made this post, when people on DU persisted in using trans individuals as a battering ram - either directly or by misgendering Republicans like Lindsey Graham.

While I'm on the subject, please knock off the "Lindsey Graham is gay/a woman" jokes. Most of you have figured this out by now, and DU Juries actually have a pretty solid track record of removing these posts, but you know what would be even better? If we didn't have to send such bigoted "jokes" to Juries in the first place.

https://www.democraticunderground.com/100215969127

The principle is identical - regardless of which group of people you are swinging around as a battering ram.

Part of the reason the magnitude of all the crimes doesn't break through for people is that all the headlines and all the conversations are about farting and sleeping and smelling bad when they aren't about who is glaring at whom in the courtroom.

He killed millions of people with his Covid policy, functionally orphaned hundred of kids whose families were seeking asylum, stole classified secrets, and tried to overthrow the US government. In this case, he conspired with a major US publication to plant false stories about his political rivals and to deny the US public the information they needed to make an informed decision before they handed over the nuclear codes and access to the most sensitive information our country holds. Calling someone fat as an insult also reinforces for everyone else who hears it and is overweight that there is something wrong with them. Multiple that by a million repetitions over a lifetime and that's how people develop inferiority complexes.

🌸The knowledge of his condition has been available since The Apprentice. My comment upfront: the concern is Mental health of a POTUS and the Dark Triad of psychopathy.

His behavior around his bowel incontinence is not one of self-care or any kind of adult modesty — instead it ranges from apparent unawareness to outright aggression, which are traits of infancy and toddlerhood. Anyone who has potty-trained toddlers knows this behavior — and normal people outgrow it.

The real issue is his mental health, which now includes dementia — and imperils all of us. Psychiatrists & psychologists have been warning anyone who would listen for many years. In his case, his behavior around his bowel incontinence is but one manifestation, shown in his attitude toward others.

You and other DUers are dealing with health challenges as best you can. The rest of us are dealing with a would-be dictator who has convinced enough followers that he is a demi-god and enough oligarchs that it is to their advantage to back him, that he may well become that dictator.

Which is to say — it isn’t about you, it’s about bringing down the demi-god and dictator.
🌸

The term “Dark Triad” refers to a trio of negative personality traits—narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy—which share some common malevolent features. The construct was coined by researchers Delroy L. Paulhus and Kevin M.
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/dark-triad#

Noel Casler of The Apprentice:

?si=T39Wjp1hMHIXQkYV

https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/18sa3cl/whats_going_on_with_trump_and_diaperssmells/

Answer: The comic Noel Casler worked on Celebrity Apprentice for six seasons. Unlike his colleagues, Casler thwarted his nondisclosure agreement, enabling him to tell us what he witnessed over his time working on set in close proximity to Trump:

He's [Trump] incontinent from all the speed, all the Adderall he does, the cocaine that he has done for decades. All that stuff has a laxative effect on your bowels and his are uncontrollable.
Casler said that Trump has been wearing 'diapers since probably the 90s'. Adding that they often had to stop the show in order for Trump to change his diaper, Casler said that Keith Schiller's job was to take Trump offset and wipe him down. "Our nickname for Keith was wet wipes."
Casler added that Trump does it and he almost sits there unaware of it, and one time he saw Ivanka have to kind of go whisper in his ear and then Keith came and took him offstage.
Trump not cleaning himself when changing out Depends, it is because he wears a hard plastic girdle and he doesn't have the freedom of movement. It's why you see him turn his body from the waist so strangely when standing.
He would soil himself often after flying into a rage and cursing out the Script Dept because he couldn’t read a word. One time there was the word 'arbitrage' on a cue card and he freaked out and started screaming that the script department was setting him up then very loudly evacuated his bowels and you could smell it.
I should also mention that Casler originally came out about this in 2019 (around the start of the pandemic), but the story was mostly buried. This discourse was reignited by a recent tweet from former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger:

“I’m genuinely surprised how people close to Trump haven’t talked about the odor. It’s truly something to behold. Wear a mask if you can.”

Google 'noel casler trump' and you will find even more Casler interviews on YouTube. There are too many to post here.

I think the other name calling, like the orange asshat for example that some may view as childish, is a safe way to let off steam. Laughing at him, at least for me distracts me from my anger and my fear over what he is doing to this country, and keeps those feelings from overwhelming me, and loosing hope.

Is it professional probably not, but I am retired. Probably not mature either but, I stopped caring about other's opinions of me awhile ago. I read a question and answer column by a priest once where someone asked him, if you believe someone is truly evil and is a true danger to others, is it okay to pray to God for that person to die? The priest said in those circumstances in his opinion, it's unlikely God would hold it against you, because it's not just a petty personal grudge, it's out of deep concern for others too. He said as long as you leave it up to God i.e. natural causes, again not something God would get angry about.

Plus if one accepts that God is all knowing there's no point in attempting to lie to him. He knows I don't love Trump, so why pretend I do?

I think the memes and jokes are sophomoric, but, they wouldn't exist if Trump wasn't known to be a vain egotistical POS that himself takes pleasure in ridiculing people for their disabilities and/or situations/behaviors beyond their control. Trump would actually get some sympathy from many in copping to medical issues he actually has to bring attention to those issues and prove one can live and thrive despite them (like Biden with stuttering). Trump, however, has no empathy for anyone and feels he needs to keep up the facade of perfection even though everyone knows it's B.S. (knowing more than the generals, having the best brain, weighing 235 pounds, having the largest crowds, winning golf tournaments at his own resorts with no verification, fake Time covers, etc.)

First, I have worked with older patients for years, and I know it is very rare that any of us will remain continent for all our lives as we age. I respect that and am very grateful there are products to accommodate incontinence. That said, let me also say, TFG has been incontinent for decades due to non-age related issues—likely drug abuse, not natural causes. Furthermore, he is an arrogant SOB who thinks he is better than you or me. The only reason anyone is dissing him for incontinence is because it MIGHT get through to his MAGA loyalists. The big tough guy who is better than anyone shits himself. Let us smear it in their f-ing faces! We’ve tried every other GD thing to get through to them! Let me apologize to you for any discomfort our insensitivity has caused you, but it has a purpose that is definitely not directed at you or others like you. One more thing, when the MAGA crowd hits on Biden for his age, we can point out a clear problem with TFG’s aging that is not so apparent with Biden, if it’s a problem at all. Please accept my apologies for insensitivity and know it is only directed to one person.

All the different perspectives. As for me, I have a weird thing that I have come to discover is common with some runners. I am normal in terms of excretion every minute of every day. BUT if I go for a walk, within maybe 20 minutes, my bowels come to life and, well, there we go. I have stopped walking/hiking because of this. At 73, I want to walk and hike. I think maybe this summer I will do what others in this condition have done and get the f***king Depends.
I don't see this being like Donnie. The very second I got back to any kind of facility, I would clean up and lose the Depends. But he just sits there in his own shit with no sense of hygiene or thought of others around him at all. It's very different from any senior in this position. He seems to be proud of stinking up a room.

118. Strategic Dehumanization
Sun May 5, 2024, 12:01 AM
May 5

Dehumanization is effective in warfare in that it enables combatants to annihilate or mistreat other people without acknowledging their humanity. It does not, however, cause the enemy to retreat or rethink. We can't sway MAGA devotees by dehumanizing Trump. And, more importantly, when characteristics shared by your own troops, such as incontinence and obesity, are chosen as the tools of dehumanization, it can divide and depress your own fighting forces. So, as a tactical matter, and as matter of respect for one another, the diaper talk should end. That being said, creating memes specific to ego-driven leadership can demoralize or destabilize an egomaniac like Trump. I recommend sticking to Trump-specific memes targeting his ego such as smelly, orange, tiny hands, mushroom, muskrat hair, dumb, demented, broke scrub. He is also a racist rapist but I am not sure those labels bother him as much.
