Fetterman as subject of negative propaganda

Whoever is running the smear campaign on senator fetterman is doing a great job.

Both sons, almost 23 and 17 are spouting stupid, crazy shit about him that they are getting off the internet.

Just a few examples from the last two days...
1. Fetterman has ALWAYS been a real Republican masquerading as a Democrat.
2. He is now anti abortion like all the rest of the Republicans. (The news story that I tried to show him working with planned parenthood was just a lie to get people who aren't in the know to vote for him thinking he's a dem and not a Republican).
3. He's gone full on fascist and wants all Palestinians killed.

I don't even know how to fight this or how prevalent it is. I disagree with Sen. Fetterman on not acknowledging that Netanyahu's government and military need to be restrained. But how they are getting young people to say this kind of bat shit crazy stuff ....it feels almost like Qanon from the left.

I fear that long term this kind of misinformation and purity signaling will split the Democratic party like maga has splintered the Republicans.

They also spout the Biden hasn't done enough bullshit as well.

4. His utter contempt for student protestors, stemming from his full-throated support for every action Israel has

taken since October 7, has been a disappointment to some who may have been energized by his original campaign (and, let's be honest, his aesthetics). His tweets and comments show he believes every protestor is pro-Hamas and being funded by George Soros.

No one is immune to all propaganda. It's rough when you see people you care about falling for it.

...he does something whackadoodle on his own. I disagree with him on Israel, as I do Biden, but I think he will be very hard for the GOP to dislodge. Besides he is not running again until 2026. If the RWers want to waste time, $$$ and energy on him from now til then, that is that much less they will have for more immediate races.

That he's got a mind of his own and is NOT a Democratic Socialist. He himself stated that, and has stated he's a Capitalist.

8. I haven't read any of this nonsense against Fetterman

But even if I had, I'd recognize it as a baseless smear.

The idea that Fetterman is a Republican-in-disguise is a lame attempt to counter the man's 'Ordinary Joe' appeal. The GOP is still pissed Fetterman won the Senate seat while hoping they can unseat Casey in November. Casey and Fetterman--though vastly different in style and approach--are friends; Fetterman will be pounding the ground on behalf of Casey. The man is effective on the campaign trail and the Republicans know it.

Dems may not like Fetterman's position on the current Israel/Palestinian debacle or his opinion on fracking. But on most democratic issues, he's solid, particularly on Biden's agenda.

Fetterman has always been his own man. The idea that he was going to march lockstep on every issue was/is ludicrous.

The Far-Right despises Democratic politicians like Fetterman bc he won't be silenced and will troll the opposition into the ground.

He's fighting the good fight which is what Republicans fear most.

The republics have become more accepting of him with his views on Israel and energy. I don’t see them wanting to remove him.
