KC Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker bashes Pride Month, tells women to stay in the kitchen

There are some times when maybe, just maybe, one should actually stick to sports.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has been tremendously successful in his chosen profession over the last few years; the 1027 seventh-round pick out of Georgia Tech has helped his team win three Super Bowls, and in the 2023 season, he made 94.3% of his field goals in the regular season (a career high), and he went 11-fot-11 in the postseason.

....(snip)....

Butker recently delivered the commencement address at Benedictine College, a liberal arts institution in Atchison, Kansas. This is the same college that once forced out gay basketball player Jallen Messersmith to remove a rainbow flag from his dorm room window.

....(snip)....

“The world around us says that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion,” Butker said. “We fear speaking truth, because now, unfortunately, truth is in the minority.” ........... (more)

A liberal arts college is descr8bed as such because a degree requires a liberal variety of courses distributed across the humanities, science, etc. A liberal arts college can be politically conservative.

It would be an unusual religious school, I think, that would be truly a liberal arts school even in the traditional sense. There would be so many writers and thinkers who would be avoided. Imagine teaching science somewhere they don't accept evolution.

The bogus Xtian colleges can use any kind of history, language, etc course to satisfy the accreditation standard, which is even lower than you might expect.

I guess just about everything can be taught out of the Bible.
"Zoology, as taught by Noah."

I once worked with a religious guy (a computer programmer, interestingly) who showed me a big binder he had where he was designing a perpetual motion machine that he said was described by an angel in the book of Isaiah. He and his father quit their jobs and moved their families into the woods to work on this divinely inspired invention.
He could teach mechanical engineering, I bet!

What is the message here? I can’t be super--successful at kicking a ball to earn a living until I harness the power of a full time servant and unless I can keep all other humans from developing a sense of pride in themselves, and the rest of you defeat the rising tide of democracy, equality and inclusiveness.

Sound like he woke up to Satan whispering in his ear.

Turns out the speech was hosted by a Catholic institution - (private pay?), compatible doctrine to them.
