shotguns versus assualt weapons

Hey, I have heard gun arguments. I can even sympathize with the Ward Churchills and Ted Ralls who thought that if the left started to get armed, maybe the right wing would not be able to wave guns at political rallies to get their way, though I know think that would be foolish. If you want a society where everyone is comfortable with military grade weapons, you will have a society comfortable with war and casualties, period.

And before people start talking about how your guns make you feel safe from those dark, scary people that are gonna come in the middle of the night, remind yourself of this..a shotgun is not going to be able to do a columbine style rampage, yet said scary burglar looking down the barrel of one is not going to laugh it off.

There is no reason to have Military grade weapons unless you want to fight a WAR, and let's face it, with certain people stoking the flames of "second amendment remedies" or flames of "secede" we know that a major reason these military weapons are still sold is by people who want to believe they can wage a civil war, against fellow Americans. No one needs an ak-47 to scare a burglar off, or to shoot a deer.

Good line : "How many deer wear a bulletproof vest?"
