Never knew just how hard right my father was, and how scared conservatives are till I got a new PC

Freakin' MAJOR hard right ideologue, but I didn't realize how preachy till now ( and he KNOWS damned well I don't share his politics )

Anyway, this is my first new PC in 9 years and it involves a lot of migrating of stuff from old to new. I noticed I haven't received any email from him, which is unusual since he's always bombarding me with anti-Obama or "vote Republicans or the world will end tomorrow" email forwards. Email addy is the same but none from him on my new PC. After only 5 days I hook up my old PC to transfer some more stuff, and what do i see? Like 50-60 something right-wing email forwards from him. Positively off the rails crazy shit, and the whole Rush/Fluke thing is making them pop vessels. From their tone I could sense they know they're fucked, and that they are on a last ditch attempt to rally for one final Alamo type defense.

I don't mean to bore you with personal anecdotes, but I think this is a good barometer to demonstrate the whole GOP/conservative meltdown. They were always nuts, but in just less than a week they've tipped their mitts that they're dinosaurs.

That's one of the things I noticed a long time ago about a lot of Republicans.. Fumesucker Mar 2012 #1

They simply cannot shut up about politics, they end up dragging it into every single conversation.

Much like extreme godbotherers can't shut up about Jeebus.

He's pushy and preachy by nature but the last several years it's impossible to talk about anything, you name it, without him steering it towards politics somehow. Always baiting. Gets nasty when challenged: Very tough to be around.

I don't even want to entertain the thought of what spending time around him would be like in the few weeks leading up to the november elections. We'd probably have a fist fight.

They never are, for anyone. But many of us idolize them, particularly when growing up.

Once we move away and/or become self-sufficient adults of our own, with our own homes and families, we begin to see things we didn't see during the time when we were being raised in a certain environment.

Thanks for sharing this!
