(10,419 posts)It was Casual Friday around 15 years ago, and I was in the company lunch room. I was wearing a scarlet Ohio State t-shirt. A woman about my age peered closely at my shirt, looked me in the eye and said "When did YOU get out?"
So we ate lunch together and shared stories with constant eye-rolling.
Arrggghh. I haven't been back to Buckeyeville in over 20 years, but I like the color red (so kill me) and I'm still a Browns fan (masochist).

(23,973 posts)The district you live in will have a Republican primary vote, too, unless their candidate runs unopposed, or the party has no candidate to run.
The guy Sam The Fake Plumber ran against is just as much an asshat as he is.
Only Republican votes are counted in their primaries, who did you expect to win?
Doesn't matter, he's going to lose to Marcy Kaptur this fall anyway.

All over but the shouting. Ohioans aren't THAT stupid.
Then again, they DID put Kat$hit in office . . .. and Bewsh . . . twice . . .

(37,573 posts)but look at last night's vote totals, and remember that Republican turnout should be higher because of their contested presidential primary.
Ohio's 9th district
Kaptur - 42,462
Kucinich - 29,899 (wow, that was not even close)
Wurzelbacher - 15,015
Kraus - 14,152
Veysey (D) - 2,876
Wurzelbacher and Kraus combined got fewer votes than Kucincih.
Which oddly enough, reminds me of my own Congressional primary. I finished a fairly close 2nd in a 3 way race. The incumbent Republican had a primary challenger. My brother remarked that her challenger lost, but got more votes than all three of us Democrats combined.
