(13,133 posts)In ways, I think it's kind of a good thing. Battery assisted bicycles and mopeds are getting second looks. Having bring along three or four thousand pounds or better of metal just to transport a couple hundred pounds of flesh seems kind wasteful or inefficient.
Get a bike. I am using my old beach cruiser for local trips and just saving my Jeep for the basics. But 4.51! Whoah...that would be 90 bucks for a fill. This sucks.

(16,646 posts)You highlight the two that show Obama behind.
I don't suspect that we can ever expect Obama to "pull way" for good until the fall.

(24,689 posts)Dont worry these numbers will change as the campaign heats. Romney is a pathetic candidate and tremendous gaffe machine.

DCBob
(24,689 posts)otherwise its nonsense to cherry pick polls and try to makes claims one way or the other.
SmellyFeet
(162 posts)Therefore, not cherry picking. Obama is down in the two polls that ended just two days ago. That's why I'm only showing them.
I included the link for anyone to see all of the polls, so I wasn't trying to hide anything.
DCBob
(24,689 posts)They often use questionable polling techniques to drive Obama's and Democrat's numbers down. That topic is more worthy of discussion.
SmellyFeet
(162 posts)And, as much as people want to not believe polls, they have been incredibly accurate for over 10 years now. Even if it is only two.

(162 posts)His numbers have actually been worse for Romney when compared to other companies.

(4,578 posts)Twenty five cents this week. Expect prices to jump another 15-20 cents in the next few days.

(1,138 posts)I am going to try and make the tank last a month. Maybe by then the price will be down. I can not afford this. I also got 2 floor fans so I can cut the A/C off this Summer. They say a fan is cheaper. I am going to try and get by power bill under 50 bucks.

(4,578 posts)Went from 3.64 to 3.79. I pay terminal pricing, not in futures or bulk advanced buys. I am not set up for average pricing so I fluctuate with incoming loads. Typically I go down faster than chains but they can be 2-7 days behind me on price increases. Hate this steady climb because I seem to be one of the stations in the vicinity that is usually higher. Being branded doesn't help either. Nevertheless, pricing continues to go up. At 3.719 incoming there is little profit if any when credit cards, 60 percent, is factored in. Will likely have another load on Tuesday and I don't anticipate it going down. Likely continues to climb and prices shoot up again on the signs. Hate seeing that 4 dollar plus for super and diesel. Buy now. Each part of the country is a bit different but here in Virginia it's rocketing up.
CAPHAVOC
(1,138 posts)Racetrack has the best price here. It is as much as 5 cents better. Lucky for me it is on the way to class but it is 45 mile round trip. I am filling this afternoon. Then I am going to Streeetchh! the tank. I hope it goes down next month. I do not need the high test. Just regular.

2) Arrest, charge, prosecute, convict and imprison.
3) Federal government seizes all assets of those convicted.
Of course, since the speculators are among those who control our government, this is unlikely to happen.

(22,308 posts)Getting hung up on every swing will do little other than raise your blood pressure.
Once Rmoney wins the nomination he will get a bump and, most probably, be ahead of Pres. Obama in the polls for a little while. Don't get hunt up on it.
None of the polls really matter until the debates start. Right now they are all but meaningless.
SmellyFeet
(162 posts)My point was to show that gas prices are affecting the polls, not that the numbers mean anything for the election or that I'm bothered by them.
I actually like the numbers. I think it will be better for Obama in the long run.

I'm shocked to hear this.
SmellyFeet
(162 posts)Gas prices will most likely go down before November, which should give President Obama a boost. You disagree?
