No flu shots for folks who don't believe in evolution

I do not mean this seriously, of course, but it is ironic that flu shots are all about the evolution of influenza. That's why we need a new vaccine every year. (And why the cagier anti-evolution folks haved moved the goal-posts to macro-evolution.)

I understand that some folks cannot wrap their heads around evolution. I get that. It is difficult and there's no law that says you have to get it. But why have an opinion, then?

I have trouble wrapping my head around aspects of quantum physics. (It is all so weird that it's said that if it doesn't trouble you then you aren't getting it.) But since transistors work then electrons do magically "tunnel" through insulators... whether I can conceptualize it or not.

2. Flu shots are for viruses. Viruses don't respond to antibiotics

Antibiotics work on bacteria. Antivirals are used against virus infections.

Infections are what really kill - and many of those are becoming antibiotic resistant.

I got interrupted and posted without including that.

We are too advanced to be caused by evolution. We are not animals, we have souls.*

*Actually said to me by a person who often says her religion is very important to her.
She has a Masters Degree and was otherwise quite intelligent.

10. Actually many of the same people don't believe in vaccinations either

Vaccinations are just a way for the evil government to insert microchips in you so that they can spy on you and control your mind; not to mention an excuse for President Obama to declare marshal (sic) law and impose a tyrannical dictatorship on everyone.

but there are plenty of teabagger-type sites that take this view.

13. Then you will back off from presenting evolution as something to be believed

Rather than something to be accepted as the way things work because they are presented with evidence that it is so.

Science really isn't a belief system and when it is talked about in those terms then people who think less, or misunderstand science may think it is a religion.
