The latest Fox News Latino poll is in ho-lee-shit territory for Republicans, with Obama beating Romney 70-14 among Hispanics. All the other candidates are basically 70-14, too. Kos runs the numbers on Latinos in swing Presidential states, and of course this new low in Hispanic support hurts Romneys chances. In 2008, 31% of Latinos voted for McCain. At the rate theyre going, Republicans will cut level of support about in half.

(7,947 posts)McCain got about half what Dubya did.... they made all the difference in the '08 election. Now if we can just get numbers like that with women when it comes to Republicans we can start driving the nails in that coffin.

Jews are included in the racist white folks group. Tangentially perhaps, but the Fundementalist Christian racist white folks will use a Jew.... a Hasid or Zionist... to their advantage if necessary. Then discard them. Even if they're Fundementalist Jewish racist white folks

(10,893 posts)i don't even care at all WHO the nominee turns out to be. he loses to Obama.
no i am not being complacent nor do i plan to become complacent. it has to happen so i will do what i can to make sure it does.

(1,013 posts)The ONLY thing I fear is that with all the positive news, Democrats will become complacent and not vote.
'tis something to guard against zealously.

Not that complacency is an option. It's just looking very, very good IMO.

(8,646 posts)I think that's already been explained. It starts with a d and ends in an umb. And when has 'it didn't work last time' stop the GOP's stupidity? How long has it been since Roe v. Wade? And what woman? Plenty of narcissists in the GOP that would love the attention.

It won't be long until Mexican-Americans control politics in Texas. They will be a big enough voting block that every politician will have to vie for their support.

(2,529 posts)Sharron Angle in Nevada, Ken Buck in Colorado, and Ruth McClung in Arizona were all favored to win in their states in the 2010 elections. But, racist comments and ads they made caused a surge of angry Latinos to flood the polls and pull the Democrats to victory. With the exception of one teabagger sister, everyone in my large Mexican-American family is going Obama. And we're churning them out. Since his election, I've had two grandnephews, two 3rd cousins and one foster niece reach voting age this election cycle with ten other teens that will be hitting that milestone within the next six years. And I never remember being that radicalized and left-wing at such a young age. Rethugs, be afraid. Be very afraid.

I hope his backing of Arizona and their racist ways towards latinos that Romney thinks is such a model for the rest of nation comes back to bite he and all the republicans right square in the arse

(10,893 posts)what about the other 16%? It seems like a pretty stark contrast to me between him and Romney in terms of their policies, so I don't get how anyone can be undecided.

(20,441 posts)Anybody who has followed the campaign could easily compare and contrast Obama and Romney.
I've had a huge amount of criticism for Obama's policies, but frankly, voting for Romney or Santorum is like voting for George W. Bush again.

(7,358 posts)This why Romney will probably ask Rubio to be his VP running mate. Like every Latino and Latina support him just because he's Hispanic. It would be like every Catholic supporting Santorum for the Catholic vote. ha ha ha .. these people are fools. I hope Romney gets steam rolled flat as a pancake.

(1,214 posts)And she is a *former* Republican. They pretty much lost her a few years back when she got tired of hearing W spout nonsense about the Iraq War on TV. Then more recently, between immigration and women's health issues, she's slammed the door on them, very hard. I am certain she is not the only one who feels this way.
