Romney has no idea how insurance works in America
By John Aravosis on 3/28/2012 08:00:00 AM
Mitt Romney on Jay Leno's show last night:
People with pre-existing conditions, as long as they have been insured before, they are going to be able to continue to have insurance, Mr. Romney said. If they are 45 years old, and they show up and say, I want insurance because I have heart disease, its like, Hey guys, we cant play the game like that. Youve got to get insurance when you are well, and then if you get ill, you are going to be covered.
Romney has no idea how insurance works in America.
The only reason people wouldn't have insurance is if they're cheapskates? Really?
You sir, are an idiot.

(202 posts)So Romney is afraid that people get a 'free' ride by only getting insurance when they are sick. Mandates would prevent this from happening. So why isn't he supporting individual mandates?

(20,942 posts)That sounds like why people think there should be a mandate.

(535 posts)Romney was FOR this, before he was against this when it was Obama's plan, and now he's FOR it again.

(2,101 posts)as its highest objective successfully establishing that live birth brings with it the inevitability of death. As a pre-existing condition, the government subsidized coverage would remain in effect until such time as a diagnosis of impending death would nullify the fraudulent policy.
Repayment of premiums to the privatized administrators would be awarded through the courts. Additionally, in keeping with the new laws, reduced health care costs would be in line with the federal mandate.
The regulated hospital business models would offer high quality, low cost services to all. Those litigating the prognosis of death would be required to place monies of not less than 10% of expected costs in escrow.
Government subsidies and grants would create the incentive for the medical industry's compliance, with monies previously allocated to Medicare and Medicaid being shifted into accounts protecting the medical industry from lawsuits.
Romney may be able to fix the healthcare system after all.

(30,404 posts)I know that he has a Social IQ of " 0 " because he put his sweet dog on the roof of the car etc.
Now I am seriously wondring how he ever made it in college ~ did his daddy push him through like the last BUSH or did he just get this way? There is certainly a Piece Missing in his Brain.
I would not hire him to do anything. To think that someone this " out of it" could be the best they can find in the Rethug Party speaks volumes about the combined IQ of the Party.

(11,689 posts)It's a well known fact that I.Q. and net worth are inversely related. Which all works out in the end, because once I.Q. is low enough, a "fool and his money are soon parted".

(4,528 posts)I have bought insurance. This bonehead doesn't realize if you work for a company and they let you go and you have to buy a policy and you have a pre existing condition either you don't get insurance or they won't cover it for a year even though you had insurance.

(25,966 posts)I'm sure he can't emotionally relate to the idea of not being able to afford something, or depending on a job, etc.
In his world, if you don't buy something, it's because you chose not to. There wouldn't be any other reason.
