Introducing WonkyNewsNerd.com - progressive news site

Some of you might be aware that I have been doing the Anglo-Saxons for Obama Facebook page since the day after this story broke during the 2012 presidential campaign: Adviser: Mitt Romney understands shared 'Anglo-Saxon' heritage that Obama does not.

That's been fun. But what I really wanted to do was a website where I could share content in much the same way, but with more flexibility. However, I never felt good about aggregation. And I just cannot write enough good content myself.

But, after looking at ad-supported embedded content from places like Repost.us, YouTube and Repubhub, I decided to take a stab at building a site that "curates" that stuff -- with an emphasis on stories consistent with my progressive outlook.

The idea is that the content is free to me, but carries advertising with it. I get free content, people who produce it get eyeballs on their ads. Win/win.

There is some marginally original content (mostly me re-writing press releases for now). But most of it is legally re-posted stuff that I like. I hope to make enough from Google ads and donations to at least pay for the hosting and some of my time.

Lades and gentlemen, I give you...

Really do like the set-up, especially the news and imagery.
