Patiently waiting for the end of the GOP...

Since the reign of George W. Bush I have been patiently waiting for the Republicans to do something so vile and reprehensible that it spells their end for all time. Perhaps it won't be one single epic disaster. Maybe it'll be a death of a thousand cuts. As the wealthy elite that represent the majority of the GOP drift further and further out of touch with mainstream America at the tops of their lofty ivory towers, their ideas become more and more bizarre. I won't quote any specific instances-everyone is familiar with what I'm talking about. They continue to drift further and further out of the realm of reality and sensibility. There is no question that the GOP is rotting from the inside out. The bloodthirsty internecine battle between Romney and Santorum is a clear sign of that. The question is, how much longer? The GOP is like a rotting platform that continues to degrade further each day until eventually it will crash in when challenged with any great weight. The Right has two choices-rid itself of the old rot and corruption or be torn down to make way for something new.

Other major political parties have failed or faded from history in the US. There is no law natural or contrived that states that the GOP must continue to exist and it looks like it may yet fail entirely over time.

But what will rise up to replace it? You can't kill an ideology once it's been hatched. Will the Tea Party become the new GOP? The greedy will always exist and they will always desire a major political party to serve their wishes in government.

Well, I don't doubt that there will be some up and comer to replace the GOP to see that the interests of the corrupt and greedy few are served. But after George Walker Bush, I have a personal vendetta against the Republican Party. I am waiting patiently for them to fail once and for all and I'll wait for as long as it takes.

Just a personal thought.
