Every birther is racist...

They can deny it to their heart's content, but we all know they would not say a word if President Obama was a white man.

It should be said loudly. They are all racists.

****

North Carolina is apparently ground zero of the latest resurgence of the birther movement, as a number of Republican candidates in the state are expressing doubts about President Obama’s birthplace.

ThinkProgress has previously noted that Richard Hudson, running for a congressional seat in the state’s 8th district, said Obama is “hiding something on his citizenship,” while the Charlotte Observer rescinded its endorsement of Jim Pendergraph, running in the 9th district, after he expressed his own doubts about Obama’s birth certificate.

Now, the Observer reports that Dr. John Whitley, one of Hudson’s opponents in tomorrow’s GOP primary, has also gone birther. He declared Obama’s birth certificate a “poorly reproduced forgery” after comparing it to the Hawaiian birth certificate of one of his campaign workers. “There is a tremendous amount of smoke here,” Whitley said. “In fact, it’s called a smoke screen.”

18. True, and in 2008 a handful of them said that McCain was ineligible because he was born in Panama.

I've seen the theory that, to be a natural born citizen, and hence eligible for the Presidency, the candidate must have been born in the United States to two U.S. citizen parents. This standard would disqualify Obama (one noncitizen parent) and McCain (born in Panama).

This theory is not found in the Constitution. In fact, it's pretty much destroyed by the Fourteenth Amendment.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]Obama obtained a valid U.S. passport as a child, when he went to Indonesia with his mother and then returned to the U.S. to live with his grandparents.

How do the birthers explain his passing that proof-of-citizenship process?

Yes, birthers are racists, but they're also unsalvageable idiots. I'd love to see one of them try to answer the passport clearance question.

8. Yes, and institutional racism abounds everywhere. We are full of it. Birthers are an example

I think Birthers are an example of people 'wearing their' institutional racism - with honor!

(of course you no longer have to wear those annoying white sheets)

Just because I am old, white (look like you) and live in the SE... that doesn't mean I want to hear your latest black joke.

9. Any U.S. citizen can get a passport
Mon May 7, 2012, 04:06 PM

Naturalized U.S. citizens (those who became citizens after birth) can get a passport. The bar keeps getting moved with the birthers, first it was that he was born outside the US, then when that was pretty obviously not true, they went the "father wasn't American" route" (which is immaterial) then they went "he renounced it when he lived in Indonesia" (minors can NOT renounce citizenship).

The birthers don't make sense, but throwing facts at them is like trying to kiss a pig. At best you get dirty and kiss a pig, at worst, well, there isn't any worst.

19. State Department records.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]State Department records would confirm young Barack's citizenship credentials (i.e., natural born or naturalized through his mother) long before there was any thought of a political career. Combined with his already-released birth certificate, the proof would be incontestable.

Of course, I agree completely that facts don't faze true birthers, but they might sway the unsure.

The Birther thing was never anything other than a pretext for the belief that a black man can't possibly be a natural born citizen.
