Yesterday, House Republicans moved legislation forward aimed at preventing any reductions in military spending, even if that means cutting much needed programs for the nations poorest. The House Armed Services Committees bill provides $554 billion for the Pentagon $29 billion more than DOD had requested while the GOP-led Budget Committee packaged six bills that would slice $261 billion from food stamps, Medicaid, social services and other programs for struggling Americans.

It's getting to be the extreme rich, mostly working poor, and destitute as the three classes, I thought the middle class fell forever into the last two.

(10,622 posts)This excrement will go to the Senate where there will be bi-partisan agreement on a solution that is 90% of this Republican house bill, then, I imagine it will get signed in a bi-partisan photo op.
The only hope we have is the election year may scare some of the Third Way types into loudly opposing this bill.
I hope the election season thing will encourage the Administration to fight over this rather than the usual.

(2,925 posts)to fight the wars, repugs really don't care what happens to the poor. They never have, and they never will. And the lack of a living wage, makes military pay look real real good.
