(21,866 posts)Why would you think the guy was a libertarian nut? I would be pissed if an officer was watching me while I was minding my own business on my property. What about the cop using the word constitutionalist as though it was a dirty word?

(5,541 posts)It's always "Wah! They're violating my rights!" without any context. Isn't it a little suspicious to be standing outside videotaping a police car for no reason? Isn't it even worse to keep your hands in your pockets when the cops pull up, and then immediately get argumentative?
And as for "Constitutionalist," the cop was referring to Libertarian gun nuts and Sovereign Citizens. They're dangerous wack jobs who pose a threat to the police. I wouldn't doubt that this guy is one of them, and that there's more to this story.

(21,866 posts)The guy said the cop had been down the street before he started filming him. In light of some prior interactions he started filming. That sounds a whole lot more reasonable than a cop coming out of his car and brandishing a gun. That cop had no business drawing a gun like that.

(444 posts)the city says there will be a rebview, Not an investigation.
From the newdpaper website:
http://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/4299394-181/video-captures-rohnert-park-police
Rohnert Park Police Chief Brian Masterson said he could not yet comment on what brought the officer to the neighborhood or if McComas was under investigation.

Mayor Amy Ahanotu said that it was too soon for him to discuss his impressions of the video because the city is reviewing the incident in order to make sure protocols and practices were followed.
We are concerned about the events and we are taking it seriously, Ahanotu said.
Ahanotu said that the city would discuss the incident once a full review has been completed. The citys statement indicated the review of the encounter will also include an analysis of whether the citys police force is using the best practices for the highest level of safety for both our officers and the community.
