These people who want to repeal the 14th Amendment . . . .

. . . . . how is it YOU think YOU deserve to be here just because you were born here? What makes YOU so special?

Maybe you need to be held accountable for the debts of your relatives?

Maybe you need to earn your way to citizenship since citizenship by accident of birth isn't good enough.

but I'd venture to guess that so-called "anchor babies" would be only a small fraction of illegal immigrants, even if we were to repeal their U.S. citizenship status (which we can't) and render them undocumented. They're really not "anchors", as their parents, brothers, sisters would have to wait until that U.S. born child became 21 years of age before they could seek adjustment of status (permanent residence) through them under current U.S. law. There may be an immigration problem, but I don't think these children are even a fraction of it.

The number of nativist bigot Dems who have come out of the woodwork on the internet today to support "partial" repeal of the 14th Amendment has been quite the embarrassing shitshow. Emphasis on shit. What a pack of racists. Trump's exposed them, too.
