in America....and, I swear, if no one else broaches the subject I may personally change my mind on where to place my solitary vote, because massive corruption is the heart of so many problems, and the getting rid of the corruption is the basis for some real progress.
And I think I am not alone...there has to be a major conversation about political corruption in America and the corrupting role of massive, secret, undisclosed money in politics. There just has to be.
Corruption. Just say it, and make the ending of corruption a central plank.....folks understand what corruption is.
By the way, how come an indicted felon on political corruption charges going to trial, from corrupt Texas, is AOK to run for President ....... but a former First Lady and accomplished four year Secretary of State, who rebuilt the ruined foreign relations of a past American regime - after the most massive personal political witch hunts ever, which has not turned up not one scintilla of actual evidence of any actual crime - SHE, SHE is the one on the media hot seat?
I would laugh if I could stop crying!
Media? Your hypocrisy is showing, better cover that up!

(608 posts)Citizen's United was the legalization of it.
Republicans propose nothing for the people expect wedge issues to keep the rabble stirred and divided....oh and tax cuts for the wealthy while the DC sleight of hand continues.
Education budgets slashed -
Infrastructure budgets slashed -
Social programs trimmed and threatened -
"Defense" budget bloated -
Pentagon / MIC revolving door continues to spin -
Congressional miscreants can't wait to wind up on K street where the big money is -
Government now working for Wall Street -
Most if not all of this country's problems can be laid at corruption's doorstep if you think about it enough.
Sorry, no link(s) ..... just one old guy's opinion, rant complete.

(5,106 posts)Hillary is my second choice after Bernie. BUT...no way I won't support Hillary. She definitely has outstanding experience compared to any other candidate. And she's definitely on the hot seat compared to any other candidate. Political fairness and the "loyal opposition" went down the tubes somewhere around Reagan. I discounted the "vast right wing conspiracy" thing, but now think that was putting it lightly. If your name is Clinton, you're fair game not only to Repugs, but the media as well. Is it Murdock/Ailes (only one a U.S. citizen) domination or what? If I were Hillary, I'd be too exhausted to continue; but realize that is not a choice for her .Bill's worldwide respect and popularity is a thorn in the Republican side. Now the right-wingers go on about U.S.popularity declining since Obama. Not true at all. The difference between Obama's and Bill Clinton's reputation in the world? Cheney for sure doesn't dare visit many countries; Bush: not sure of the of the situation with him. Do we have any previous examples of former U.S. administrations in that situation?

(23,946 posts)According to the State Department, the most-traveled Secretary of State in history visited 112 countries during her four-year tenure, traversing 956,733 miles -- enough to span the globe more than 38 times -- and spending 401 total days on the road.

(5,106 posts)I can't believe that "the Wall" is even an issue. "Idiocracy" at its most extreme. Can any reasonable person even begin to imagine it? Would we also need to have National Guard troops on hand every few yards with cauldrons of boiling oil?
