Even If You Had To Scuba Dive To See Liberty Statue GOP Would Still Be Denying Climate Change.

I wonder how we are going to get past a party that will never let anything be done about global warming. I see NO sign that the GOP will ever cooperate. All I see is more and more resistance to doing anything. And I see even stiff interference if you try to get legislation or anything meaningful done in the public sector. They are just as hysterical and even about global warming efforts as they are shutting down Planned Parenthood.

There very active efforts to silence everyone on this issue is very disturbing. I simply cannot understand this kind of vicious ignorance.

It is like someone dying of a heart attack and there is someone who won't let you intervene to save the person.

Unfortunately, they see acknowledging this fact as a profound threat to their core principles, not to mention the primary source of their largesse. And they're almost certainly right.

As for the Republican rank and file, I fear that many of them are truly ignorant or in denial. And they are being led to their doom by a bunch of greedy, cynical industrialists and politicians.

Denying climate change, and saying "nucular", endears them to their base.

to admit that you're "not a scientist" but still ignore the actual scientists really is baffling. Especially on something this important. I suppose it's a combination of being beholden to the o&g industry, slavish opposition to any government regulation, and just plain partisan stubbornness.
