(57,936 posts)not really accurate, like that someone who has a good income lives in their household, like issuing a lot of adjustable mortgages that are very risky because wages are not rising and then selling derivatives on them (gambling as to which of them and how many homebuyers will default on those mortgages), like changing algorithms used by your investment company, bank or mortgage company so that you increase the risk and thus your risk of failure.
Like selling companies in ways that use your pension funds to leverage the buyers buy-out of your company so that YOU can retire in what you think will be ease, no matter what happens to your employees and the pension funds you promised them.
Like moving your production to a country that pays wages that are much lower than anyone could even subsist on in this country -- a couple of dollars a day when those two or so dollars here could not even buy one gallon of milk, selling the products that the people working for a couple of dollars a day produce here in this company at prices marked up at least 100% (in spite of shipping costs) and by setting up phony companies in various countries taking the very generous profits so as to avoid having to pay US taxes. That is, taking American working people for all they are worth in every possible way you can.
There are many other such techniques.
Basically, screwing America and Americans while proclaiming yourself far and wide to be an American patriot.
Oh, and there is a special category for people who don't bother to check the immigration status of people they hire to clean their houses, take care of their children, work in their factories, sweep their floors, wash their windows, etc. and then support Donald Trump because he is going to deport all the "illegal" immigrants. Special ring in Hell for those folks.

(55,745 posts)Although for its proponents, things turned out all right. Phil Gramm and Bill Clinton today specialize in "Wealth Management" at UBS:

(2,150 posts)who are so skilled at getting approximately half the country to vote against their own self interests. I'm sickened by the huge number of racist, and idiotic emails circulating that make it look like the poor and people of color are immoral junkies.
I just got an email a couple of minutes ago from someone who is normally a smart, reasonable guy. But it's a waste of my time to try to get him to see that he's cirulating propaganada. There's nothing that extricates him from his deep racism which seems to be big part in this part of the country. It runs very, very deep.
The email was entitled "Who's You're Daddy?" and was supposedly interviews with several black women who couldn't be sure who their children's fathers are....
At the end of the email it said:
"These are the people who will be the beneficiaries of redistributed wealth."

(14,602 posts)SHOULD have for a good future, as opposed to what they DO have, it makes you almost cry. At least it does me.
These little girls ought to be worrying about what to wear for school instead of worrying that they don't have anything to wear.
They should be thinking about their schoolwork instead of wondering if they will have anything to eat tomorrow.
Well, it's profound, and little girls like this are a big part of the reason I'm supporting Bernie. Because he has proven he genuinely cares about them.
