The gunman that shot U.S. Rep. Giffords in 2011, is now suing her for$25 million dollars due to mental distress! Utterly amazing! I don't know where to start with that is wrong with this!

looked at the link, he filed it himself.

(86,897 posts)I saw that post when looking at responses to mine. I have to agree with you there. I have a brother who is "not right in the head" and when he was being divorced by his ex-wife, he made the case drag on for years by insisting that he defend himself and all documents submitted by him were all hand written. He refused an attorney and made out outrageous and unrealistic claims and demands. I was amazed that he wasn't hospitalized at some point during the many years it took my poor ex-SIL to endure this BS after the seven years she endured his abuse.
This stuff in the lawsuit, looks like the kind of bizarre rubbish that my brother would come up with.
Laughner's in a mental health facility, right?

(82,383 posts)you usually are dealing with a crazy person who thinks the courts are there to handle their complaints against life in general and provide what they see as justice. They've no idea of the fact that a "cause of action" in law has to be pleaded.

I've witnessed far too many examples of this in my life, it's not hard to recognize.

(34,139 posts)Because the claims in this lawsuit pretty much seem to prove that he is crazy as a loon (no insult intended to loons):
Some of the claims in the lawsuit include:
Loughner is innocent and was hand-picked to be an assassin.
Giffords was never shot and learned to act the part by watching Ronald Reagan movies.
Loughner is being waterboarded every day by agents from the NSA, CIA and ATF.
Microchips have been placed in his head and he is the victim of a worldwide conspiracy.
Giffords is part of the Illuminati, a supposed secret organization of the most powerful people in the world.
Loughner is being targeted with chemtrails, which have made him sick and delusional.
Giffords help set up rancher Cliven Bundy.
Mark Kelly, Giffords' husband and a former American astronaut, planted illegal spy equipment in the skies to spy on Americans.

Arizona gunman's lawsuit vs Gabby Giffords may be hoax: report
BY AMY TENNERY
A bizarre lawsuit purportedly filed by the gunman in the 2011 mass shooting in Arizona that critically injured U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords may be a hoax, an Arizona news website reported on Thursday.
The lawsuit was filed March 18 in federal court in Arizona naming the plaintiff as Jared Lee Loughner, the gunman who pleaded guilty to killing six people in a rampage at a Tucson supermarket. The suit's demand for $25 million in damages from Giffords for causing emotional and psychological distress instantly prompted a storm of reaction online and in social media.
Local news website Tucson News Now revealed Thursday that the document, which claims that Loughner is innocent, is being imprisoned illegally and is being controlled by the government, may in fact have been filed as a hoax.
Tucson News Now reported that the Loughner lawsuit has a note in the filing that says it could be thrown out because it does not follow proper form.
