For me this threat is not such a bad thing. There is a poison that has become nearly fatal and we need to be taken to the emergency room. Better to tackle it now than letting it continue to fester. Not withstanding dire observation, it is still fun to look back into ancient history to find enlightening analogies. The better we understand history, whether it be the fall of ancient Rome, or the rise of a fascist Germany–the greater chance we have of inoculating ourselves from a series of events that appear to be putting us on a direct course of repeating history."
