Trump has won friends in Moscow with statements praising Putin as a strong leader that he could probably get along with. His support for Russian air strikes in Syria was welcomed.

Birds of a feather, you know. Strong authoritarian leaders who will rebuild the military to "Make ------- Great Again". What's not to like.

(6,342 posts)They likely see Hillary as status-quo. She'll likely continue the same policies the US is currently on which Russia clearly does not see in their best interests. Trump may bring a different approach the Kremlin feels they may be able to mold and have greater influence. Trump has already said he wants to make deals with Russia, work together fighting terrorism, and has hinted he'd re-evaluate the sanctions. He's praised Putin as a leader. He's said he has no problem with Russia dropping bombs on terrorists.
Of course they would prefer him.
