http://thetab.com/us/indiana/2016/04/06/dominican-friar-1859There was really only one course of action in light of the chaos that ensued Monday night when a priest in white robes bearing rosary beads spotted on 10th St. was mistaken for a Klu Klux Klan member armed with a whip.
Meet Father Jude McPeak, a Dominican friar, an active member of the St. Pauls Catholic Church network, and the man of the cloth whose great habit contributed to the biggest false alarm IU has encountered since Read Residence Centers most recent literal false alarm....
He didnt know his white-robed presence was causing mass alarm when he went with the student group to the 10th St. Red Mango. It wasnt until the next day he realized how much things had been blown out of proportion.
I thought it was kind of funny, Father Jude said. A lot of my friends have been teasing me. Its been humbling.

Note that Loyola University of New Orleans, right in the heart of Dukkke country, is run by Dominicans.

God Shammgod, that is.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_Shammgod
Shammgod played for two seasons at Providence College, where he averaged 10.3 PPG for his college career. He was selected to the Big East All-Rookie Team as a freshman in 1996 after setting the Big East freshman assist record, which has since been broken. As a sophomore, Shammgod teamed with future NBA player Austin Croshere and Dennis Cleary in leading the Friars to the 1997 Elite Eight, where they lost to eventual NCAA champion Arizona in overtime. Shammgod registered 23 points and 5 assists while matching up against future NBA player Mike Bibby in the loss.

Society for Creative Anachronism - medieval recreationists. http://www.sca.org/
We used to wander all over campus in our period costumes, some of the men carried their swords. Somehow no one freaked out though we'd get some very strange looks.
