Serious question: Have Democratic politicians run from constituents?

I remember that the Tea Party showed up at lots of Dem townhalls in 2010, but I can't remember ever hearing about them fleeing or avoiding constituents to the degree that the GOP have.

The GOP are such fucking cowards - they can take away people's jobs, healthcare, benefits, threaten social security, rob pensions, etc etc but cannot actually face the people they represent.
