Election fraud was commited. Hillary won. Hillary should be in the WH.
THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN AND, AND SO THE REAL WINNER SHOULD TAKE HER PLACE AS PRESIDENT!!!
But it wont happen!
It will be President Trump, President Pence, or President Ryan.
No matter what happens, they got away with it.
How can this be called JUSTICE? HOW!?!?!?!

In every case, the wise pundits are eager to tell us what Clinton should have done. She should have reached out to white working class voters. She should have been more up front about her emails. She should have embraced the far left. Blah blah blah.
What every single one of these bullshit analyses overlooks is the fact that SHE FUCKING WON THE POPULAR VOTE BY A MARGIN OF 3 MILLION!
It frankly strikes me as sexist, requiring that she not only exceed the vote total of her male opponent, but that she exceed it by an even more vast sum.
If she did anything wrong, it's that she failed to understand the raw malignancy of the Trump campaign and the lengths to which the Putin/Republican machine would go in order to seize "victory."

(9,033 posts)glosses over the fact that she lost by the rules that she knew as well or better than anybody.
So if she did anything wrong, it was not in paying sufficient attention to those rules.
Orrex
(63,234 posts)As far as I'm aware, the rules do not include "aggressively suppress voter turnout" or "leak false information re: pending indictments."
And if it turns out that Putin meddled with the election, then I'm pretty sure that the rules don't include "collude with a hostile foreign power in order to usurp the presidency" either.
So I repeat:

(16,132 posts)many, many legitimate voters were purged and it did make a difference.
Many legitimate voters were also turned away at the polls due to new voter ID regulations.
Both efforts were aimed primarily at typically Democratic voters.

(24,654 posts)I completely agree with you.
Anyone claiming she failed to appreciate how the EC impacts the direction and focus of a presidential campaign is being absolutely absurd. Voter suppression tactics could easily have made enough of a difference to swing the EC results. And in my opinion, they did. Hillary Clinton is too experienced, intelligent, and savvy to have failed in this regard. It just makes no sense given her background or the campaign strategy she employed.
pnwmom
(109,009 posts)that she did lose because of 70,000 votes in 3 states. None of those states had a full recount by hand of paper ballots -- paper ballots didn't exist everywhere in those states. And we also know there was significant voter suppression.
There is nothing in the rules ,by the way, that says it's fine to win with an assist from Russia.
Or from the FBI.
Bettie
(16,132 posts)aggressive suppression efforts through crosscheck.
Wisconsin also has a very strict voter ID law and turned many away on election day.
I see you mentioned this, but it can not be said too often, the orange creature did not win legitimately.

(109,009 posts)especially "greens" and other "progressives," claim that Hillary "knew the rules" and so should have won. Even though the rules were broken so widely in this election.

(27,843 posts)the problem is, as soon as you fix one problem, another crops up. And the victories are slow in coming (though they do come).
Remember back in Arizona in the primaries when the GOP shut down all the election sites? Well, it was her team that was in court a day or two later fighting it. Despite that, there were still not enough polling places in November.

(63,234 posts)And of course it continues even now, because the GOP (and the media) would certainly have crucified President Hillary Clinton if her administration had produced any single one of the daily Trump scandals. For that matter, imagine if she sent out any of Trump's insane and petty tweets, or if she'd off-handedly insulted our allies!
They would take it as proof that she (and, likely, that women in general) lack the temperament to serves as POTUS.

(3,418 posts)If all of this could be absolutely proven with hard facts then there is a way that Hillary could become president.
The House of Representatives can appoint any one they wish as Speaker of the House. It can be anyone they choose and not even an elected member of the House.
If there was enough proof and outrage--then theoretically Ryan could be removed or made to step aside and Hillary elected as Speaker of the House. Then if Trump and Pence were removed from Office she would become the President.
A very long but not totally impossible probability.

(3,418 posts)It is speculation but it is withing the realm of possibility. It would take a tremendous amount of outrage and certainly a tremendous amount of integrity and courage on the part of the Congress. But it is not impossible. Extremely unlikely but not impossible.

(5,815 posts)if it can be proven that there was major disruption to the integrity of the vote through a variety of methods. I get it that it was "certified" and all that. But rancid meat is still rancid even if the meat inspector swore on a stack of cook books that it was USDA prime.
We must demand an audit that is done independently of the people and parties involved. Starting today. We should accept nothing less. And if the Constitution is not prepared for this, then that can be addressed, too. The rightful winner should not have to walk away only because our constitution never addressed massive election tampering. It just needs to be fixed and dealt with. Now.
As the saying goes.....the worm has turned and we are not gonna sit down and be quiet while a foreign dictator wrecks avok with our nation. Resist!!

(10,106 posts)We now know that Trump's campaign operatives were in contact with Russian intelligence for at least a year before the election. Russian intelligence! And our own taxpayer-funded intelligence management did not believe that little fact important enough for voters to know prior to the election! No one with any sense would believe that authoritarian Trump did not know about every conversation with the Russians. And there is no excuse for any campaign to be in contact with Russian intelligence unless it was specifically to collude with them to steal an American election. The Supreme Court needs a case brought where they can declare this election null and void--not that I expect that to happen. We need to keep this in front of voters through the 2018 election!

(14,595 posts)pass a 'national popular vote' law. This law forces a state's electors to vote the way the national popular vote went, not that state's popular vote. In effect, it eliminates the electoral college if enough states pass it. The minute the legislation is in effect in a group of states that make up over 270 electoral votes, then the electoral college is DONE.
Please form small neighborhood groups to pressure your legislators today.
Mr. Ected
(9,673 posts)And the Founding Fathers didn't account for a hot mess like we just experienced.
Because of partisanship, the legislature won't pass any bills that address this issue should it occur again in the future.
We have a lovely Constitution, but there are some blind spots that were not and will not be remedied.

First Speaker
(4,858 posts)...and the GOP had won the popular vote, but lost the Electoral College...and it was proved that the Dem candidate had done what Trump had done. (I know that no Dem would actually do this; it's only the GOP that pulls this shit. 1968; 1980; 2016. See a pattern?) But if. And assume, too, they had no control of either house of Congress. They would be taking the matter to the streets, trying to suborn the military into a coup, having their media assets calling for a revolution. Day and night, we'd be hearing this. Fox "news" would be going nuclear. The state legislatures they controlled would be openly passing nullification statutes. And this would just be a start. That's because the GOP--no matter how hateful--has guts, and doesn't care if they're called names or laughed at by the Washington Village. They play to win. We play by the rules.

(6,994 posts)elevate by Trump and his campaign insdiers and even some Republican pundits it was somewhat obvious that the fix was in ....knowing what we know now.
It was like in 2000 after Florida was called for Gore and then Bush Jr stated that he would not concede as if he know and obviously he did know something was up in that state....
Every thing was just too damn easy and too damn close and the barriers that were set up in Michigan,PA and Wisconsin preventing an actual vote recount. There were admissions that yes the "vote count was official and Trump won"
Did it make sense that North Carolina elected a Democratic governor and Trump won the state? I dont know..
I think the Republican attitude has always been after a Democrat has had 8 years in the White House is that they will not lose and will win back the White House at all costs.....
So yes I agree with you 150%

(15,682 posts)but what I do post is usually similar in sentiment. Screw this attitude about figuring out what Hillary did wrong so we can pick up a few Congressional seats 2018. Bull fucking shit on that. Hillary won. Period. I think we should all stop the nonsense and demand, not a new election, but the election we actually already won.
The maggot knows it. That's why every chance he gets he lies about his electoral "landslide". He knows that any real investigation would prove what we already know. Hillary won in every way.
