(19,569 posts)I was told an embedded tweet in a location where twitter is blocked shows as a blind link to a tweet. Since then I've been copy and pasting the text out of courtesy.

The one instance that this is not an option is when there is a video in the tweet. For this, I try to make sure that I put this in my OP title: (video tweet), so that people don't waste their time if they can't see it in the post.

I come here to read opinions, news pieces or editorials and discuss them.
There seems to be a dearth of in-depth discussion and comments here.

(5,945 posts)Posts that contain nothing more than a link to a TV show or a Tweet are downright insulting. The same goes for blind links to news articles as well. If it's worth the time to post at all, then it's worth the time to include at least a brief description or excerpt.
