The Hill:
MSNBC grew its primetime viewership by 63 percent, compared to February of 2016, while its daytime offerings are up 62 percent.
The program enjoying the most success has been "The Rachel Maddow Show. In February, the progressive politically focused program delivered MSNBCs biggest total viewer audience in the 9 p.m. ET time period ever. It was the 45th consecutive month Maddow has beaten CNNs regularly scheduled programs in the timeslot in total viewers, according to the network. During the previous week between Feb. 13-18, Maddow enjoyed her most-watched week since October of 2008 with an average of 2.6 million viewers.
In the morning show race, "Morning Joe" topped CNN in total viewers for second place in the cable news race, behind Fox News's "Fox & Friends." But CNN won in the advertiser-friendly 25-54 year-old demographic.

(23,182 posts)CNN's morning show is much more sane than Morning Joe and much more adversarial towards this asshole bunch currently running our country into the ground. Joe Scarborough parties with Drumpf then lies and denies it, he's on the take and has been since Drumpf got into the race for presidency.

(55 posts)Is the cry that I hear from right-leaning people. But, quelling their "feelings" about her is quite easy. Her stories and segments are obviously well researched, well written and on-topic. You typically get very little in the way of personal opinion from her. She states the case, which it's obvious she personally agrees with, fact laid out on the table. If you cannot refute what she is reporting with researched information and facts (not alternative facts...), your "feelings" about her being "partisan" are moot.
calimary
(81,553 posts)The problem is - facts. REAL facts, not the "alternative facts" that those groups tend to cling to, are nonpartisan.
But Stephen Colbert reminded us awhile ago that reality has a liberal bias.
What I like is how well she connects the dots. I feel like watching her is attending a master class.
lunatica
(53,410 posts)She's carved out her own niche in a very good way. She refuses to fall for what Trump is saying and instead watching what he's doing. Him and his people. And she connects the dots like no other.
I imagine the Trump Administration and Republicans are getting terrified of her. She looks under the rocks.

Very important to watch selectively so they get the message that truth and decency matter.

I know her professorial manner annoys some people but they need to remember she's not only speaking to us. She's speaking to many that don't live politics. Important things need context.

(7,309 posts)... the thing that bothers me is her tendency speak in circles about a point. It takes her a very long time to make a point, which is great if her audience were children (or Trumpsters), but each segment is quite suspenseful and stressing.
That's my minor quibble, but I'll take it because she does do well with nuance on complicated issues. If that's her only fault, I'll take it.
Good on her for her ratings. More people will be better informed which is a good thing.
