Wolf Blitzer To Trump: Youre Starting To Sound A Little Ridiculous
Donald Trump called into CNN Tuesday hours before he was scheduled to hold a fundraiser with Mitt Romney. The topic of Trumps continued birtherism was the focus of the testy interview. From a rush transcript:
BLITZER: Donald, youre beginning to sound a little ridiculous, I have to tell you.
TRUMP: You are, Wolf. Let me tell you something, I think you sound ridiculous, and if youd ask me a question and let me answer it.
BLITZER: Heres the question, did the conspiracy start in 1961 where the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and the Advertiser contemporaneously published announcements that he was born in Hawaii?
TRUMP: Many people put those announcements in because they wanted to get the benefit because of getting so-called born in this country. Many people did it. It was something done by many people even though they werent born in the country. You know and I know it.

Really?
I had never heard of this happening until it became an "issue" surrounding the current president.
Is it true that "many people did it"?

This is because it's not about the birth certificate or where he was born. Most people here know what it's ultimately about.
McCain actually WAS born outside of the US and yet there was absolutely no questioning his natural-born citizenship.

(16,230 posts)As far as I know, the only benefit that comes from being born here, as opposed to being naturalized, is that you can run for President. I don't know of any other benefit that isn't just as available to naturalized citizens as it is to natural born citizens.

(5,317 posts)Obviously his mother knew he would run for President when he was born and placed a fake newspaper notice to mitigate questions about the legitimacy of his citizenship.

Trump doesn't "give names".
He was probably bitching after the interview that Wolf had the nerve to ask him questions! "No one said there would be QUESTIONS!"

(23,664 posts)Listen to him talk sometime. I think my great granddaughter who is 4 years old, has a better command of the language than Trump does.
He speaks in primarily in monosyllables and his use of adjectives is limited to value modifiers like "good" "bad" or "terrible".
He's living proof of the saying that the best way to end up with a small fortune is to start with a large one.

Wolf Blitzer is as close to an overt Republican partisan as CNN gets, with the exception of Candy Crowley. When Blitzer starts calling a fellow Republican "ridiculous," you know that the Romney campaign is just short of looking into small private planes to invite Trump to fly on in stormy weather.

(25,111 posts)Mittens birth certificate and school transcripts as well. Since Mittens father was born in Mexico per the birthers wouldn't that automatically disqualify him?
And Pres O's mother and family knew in advance that baby Barry would be President of the United States. Trump looks and talks like a loony. Its horrible how these re pugs disrespect the office of the president.
Mittens, being a so called religious man is a hopeless and horrible person.

(363 posts)Seriously, if Obama's family was trying to sneak him in as an American, they'd probably start with a name like George Washington Obama or even Mickey Mantle Obama for the 1961 all American reference. If you are trying to pass a kid off as American, you don't name him Barack Hussein.

yeah, Donald--name one who did--since "many" do this.
I thought so.. you can't name one. You can't even buy one to trot out to the media and say they did it.

(30,058 posts)Now to the next step, one could be born in another country other than US or US soil and if one of the parents was a citizen, it qualifies this child to be a citizen also. US Code Title 8, Section 1401 describes what qualifies a person to run for the presidence of the US. I find it interesting repubs are pushing for Rubino to run as vice president and facts are he was born in the US but not either parent was a citizen at the time of his birth. They go off on a tangent and right afterwards they are hit with the same facts on someone they are pushing. Donald makes money off of his rants, he needs to be sent to his room until he can return and have acceptable behavior.

Just who is an American citizen? Only billionaires like Romney & Friends? And why do they care, since they have homes abroad and don't pay the USA any taxes?
It's not just Obama they're going after, it's everyone who is not likely to vote for these robber barons. Can this get any more insane?
(Well, yeah, I guess it could, everyone stay home and don't vote, let Romney have it, and then get ready to join a church and let them tell you how to live for the rest of your life, what's left of it.)
