But when did the Russians get good at ANYTHING? When on earth did they become world-class hackers? For so long, anything they made was a shorthand joke for shoddy workmanship. I miss those days.

I know it's been that way for at least the last 15 years. I'm guessing they must have been pumping a lot of money into finding smart people and training them up and then giving them lots of resources.

Although, another way to look at it is that maybe they are not *as* good, and that is why there is usually signs of Russian tampering. So they have all these people basically brute forcing their way around.

7. Maybe 'Occupied' was not fiction!

The Netflix series Occupied is a political thriller based on the idea that Norway is trying to go totally green and cuts off all oil/gas production. Russia does not like this and begins various strong arm tactics to essentially take control of Norway. An excellent series, but when I watched it I didn't have any idea that it could be prophetic! What a world.

I watched like half it and then got sidetracked. Although, in that movie wasn't the EU and the US also in on supporting Russia?

Yes, neither of them would back up Norway against Russia. There was a lot of blackmailing and arm twisting done to get them to basically fall in line with what Moscow wanted. It was so chilling because nothing that was done was totally unbelievable or out of the realm of possibility. At least from what I remember, it's been awhile since I watched it. I think I might have to have a re-watch now.
