President Donald Trump again attacked the New York Times, this time for a devastating report that shed light on his administrations bumbling inner workings.
The president dismissed the report late Monday morning as total fiction and accused reporters Maggie Haberman and Glenn Thrush of making up sources.

The failing @nytimes writes total fiction concerning me. They have gotten it wrong for two years, and now are making up stories & sources!

The report claims Trump clocks out at 6:30 p.m. and spends the rest of the evening watching TV alone, often wearing a bathrobe and marking up newspaper stories with a Sharpie.
His aides then meet in darkened offices, the report claims, because they havent figured out how to operate the light switches yet.

Maybe a little slow to answer the call? Maybe pretend not to know answers and will have to go get
someone else and the Trumpers say "never mind, we'll figure it out".
Think there's more to it.

(90,865 posts)....of the permanent staff. DT and his nearest advisors had no idea how the White House works, they didn't know they would have to hire all the worker bees in the West Wing themselves -- what they did not know about how government itself works speaks volumes, and this is just part of it.
I am quit sure the permanent staff of cooks, cleaners, ushers, and maintenance people have all been perfectly professional in their behavior and in the quality of the jobs they are tasked with.
But if all the Trumpites from the boss on down have treated them with disrespect -- did I mention that they are all or nearly all African American? -- where is the incentive to volunteer information about the little idiosyncrasies that come with any home or office, like how the thermostat works and which curtain the light switch is behind?

(3,040 posts)But, I don't buy this the story that they don't know how to work the lights or open the right doors. After over two weeks, someone would have asked the White House maintenance if they could not find the light switches. That said, I do believe the stories that he watches TV at 6:30 etc.
I don't say this because I am defending Trump, but because we need to stop promoting the bullshit Trump stories that distract us from what awful things the administration is really doing.

(19,568 posts)And, the article stated it was visitors to the WH who were wandering about after meetings trying to find an exit. Which I believe was said previously by one such unescorted visitor.
The NYT wove all the various leaks and statements into the article to impress how chaotic the atmosphere in the WH actually is currently.

Clearly these people are out of their depth and Letting mundane issues slip by the wayside.

(37,454 posts)funny he and his son-in-law thought all the people working there came with the White House. Only the professional staff - housekeeping - etc remain.
