White House Plans to Have Trump Ally Review Intelligence Agencies
Source: New York Times
WASHINGTON President Trump plans to assign a New York billionaire to lead a
broad review of American intelligence agencies, according to administration
officials, an effort that members of the intelligence community fear could curtail
their independence and reduce the flow of information that contradicts the
presidents worldview.
The possible role for Stephen A. Feinberg, a cofounder of Cerberus Capital
Management, has met fierce resistance among intelligence officials already on edge
because of the criticism the intelligence community has received from Mr. Trump
during the campaign and since he became president. On Wednesday, Mr. Trump
blamed leaks from the intelligence community for the departure of Michael T. Flynn,
his national security adviser, whose resignation he requested.
There has been no announcement of Mr. Feinbergs job, which would be based
in the White House, but he recently told his companys shareholders that he is in
discussions to join the Trump administration. He is a member of Mr. Trumps
economic advisory council.

How fitting. What will the fundies think?

Hell, our allies also have these tapes and transcripts. It's only a matter of time.

(49,058 posts)tRump is not a god and he is not up against gods, but measuring the skills and understanding of the two sides, it is as if he has declared war on gods.
tRump is half-mad already. For one thing, he is now obsessed. For another, his out-of-control narcissism make him think that it is more important to stop leaks against him than it is for him to stop leaking US intelligence -- witness the Mar-a-Lago breach of security and the security key info left on Oval Office desk in the presence of reporters and photographers. That's not even getting into the content of Flynn's calls and the "constant contact with Russian intelligence during the election".
The biggest leak is that the intelligence and wisdom and smarts that so recently graced the Executive Branch from the top down have been leaking / draining out.

I don't see what can stop them unless the CIA or FBI brings them down very, very soon. If they wait their ability to do so will be eliminated.

(53,093 posts)Flynn couldn't get a security clearance for his pick for deputy, and that was with Trump's support. The intelligence agencies aren't disclosing their most sensitive info to Trump. They sure aren't going to roll over for a hedge fund billionaire on Trump's command. They may give the appearance of cooperation, which is quite different from actual cooperation.
