Biden campaign expected to have raised a record more than $300 million in August: report

Joe Biden's campaign is expected to have raised more than $300 million in August, surpassing the Democratic presidential nominee's previous monthly record for fundraising, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
Two people familiar with the matter told the Times that the Biden campaign's expected total comes from his campaign and shared committees with the Democratic Party. The majority of the former vice president's August haul came from online grassroots donors, another person familiar with the figures said.
Sources told the newspaper they did not know the exact amount raised for August or how much higher than $300 million the amount would be.
The Biden campaign did not immediately return a request for comment.

This is actually misleading in that Trump's total does not include the in kind support he receives from Fox News, as well as Trump's willingness to blatantly use federal resources for political purposes. For example, rather than pay for a private space, turn the White House into a RNC convention hall.
Likewise, how do you value Russia's efforts to amplify QAnon pro-Trump conspiracies.

(130,043 posts)but it is also a shame that this much has to be raised. Was checking and saw that during the 2012 election period, Obama had raised $1.1 billion (total for the election season) and here we're talking about a little over 1/3rd of that amount raised just for 1 month.
