Warren — A tear trickled down Candace Hall's cheek as she described feeling terrorized inside her own home, following three nights of harassment this week that culminated in bullets smashing through her front window Thursday night.

"I can't sit on my couch — a bullet is in the back of it," said Hall during a press conference Friday in the lobby of Warren Police Headquarters.

Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer said his detectives are investigating three incidents he's calling hate crimes that terrorized Hall, her husband Eddie and their two children on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

"It's disgusting, and we're outraged about a hate crime we believe was committed against Mr. and Mrs. Hall," Dwyer said. "These are veterans who served our country. Obviously, we're very concerned."

Police say they recovered six 9 mm shell casings from the Halls' home from a shooting Thursday about 11:30 p.m. Police also have grainy video of a man slinking around the side of the Halls' house.

It's wildly escalating craziness and violence. My husband and I just watched the documentary The Social Dilemma (new on Netflix). They showed the Pizzagate links, and other extremism. Fascinating, compelling, chilling.

I’ll freely admit that.

But if someone did that to me 3 nights in a row on the 3rd night they would be dead on my lawn.

I’m no gun nut. Just a hunter. Whose guns normally stay locked up in a safe.

I don’t know where the idea began that liberal democrats don’t own guns and and are proficient in their use. Yeah, I don’t own any AR type firearms like the gun nuts. But my old rifles and shotguns are well maintained and I will defend my home. Especially against terrorist and fascist. And not being Christian I have no obligation to turn the cheek and let some dip-shit kill me or my wife.

And being a liberal does not mean I don’t come from a long line of Americans who have been willing to fight for our rights. Both my wife and I have ancestors who fought in the revolutionary war. The conservatives supported the king.

Being in favor of much stricter firearm laws, which I strongly favor does not mean being anti-firearm.

Europe has very strict gun laws. But the French, Germans and Italians remain dedicated hunters. As do many other Europeans.
